Karla Sofia Gascon is a Spanish man and white. Him playing a Mexican doesn't make him suddenly brown despite he seems to have also tried to darken his skin and hair. This is him before transition:

Like many people when I first heard about Emilia Perez I thought it was so insane it almost seemed like a psyop, like as if you got pol to write an oscarbait movie for the current year. It feels like the oscars academy just swallowed the biggest, most blatant bait of all time. Even the costars in Emilia Perez couldn't escape Gascon's wrath.

The Academy really has to rescind all their awards for Emilia Perez at this rate given how this one movie is causing so much controversy in a way that isn't positive.

Like I think if it was just right wing outrage, the Academy would feel more smug about how brave they are for nominating this movie.

But Mexicans and the LGBTQ hate the movie in overwhelming numbers. Hell Mexico's government had to refund everyone in that country's ticket as there were mass refunds and a Mexican transgirl made a parody film to insult the french out of spite.

Now add on top of it, the leading trans actress where people even within the minority community they claim to represent openly hate them for at first whining that anyone who hated Emilia Perez is bigoted, only for their tweeting history to expose them for how they hate every minority ever, insult their costar, being an anti-vaxxer, and defending Hitler.

I have never seen any potential best picture winners have this much crazy shit with it, especially since it is a genuinely bad movie on the level of The Room but worse.

I'm sure they nominated this to get people talking, but not for the shit show happening, more of "See Orange Man, a movie about Trans Mexicans won!" rather than their lead's old nutty tweets resurfacing.

This movie was tailor-made for coastal elites since it was a critical darling until the major awards shows brought it to the public consciousness and regular people did digging.

Nothing changes. The votes are already cast and the tranny was never considered to win. The film will still take best picture, best foreigner film, and probably a bunch of other awards.

But the homosexual french and the co-stars are learning the harsh way to never trust a tranny. They will start this year completely peaked.

No, the most you get is a scene where the pre-op tranny shows her tits to the lawyer but it's a fully clothed backshot, you only see the tranny's back and Zoe Saldana making a silly face.

Even if Emilia Perez doesn't win that many Oscars, Conclave, Brutalist and Anora are still made in the same anti-americana or anti-western worldview of the former.
