Wicked and Dune got best film nominated because of the long-standing "Hollywood refuses to nominate normies blockbusters" stigma, that inevitably results in several normies blockbusters getting pity nominations to shut up people who complain about how every year, only obscure arthouse shit gets nominated/win awards.

Also, would not be shocked if there is an unofficial banning on Trump bashing at the show with nominees and presenters being warned they'll be blackballed if they do.

Crash actually completed against Brokeback Mountain and only won because Hollywood was terrified of a conservative backlash of BM won best picture. So Ang Lee won best director as a pity win because they had to give BM SOMETHING and Crash got best picture as a bit of a fuck you, especially since everyone knew it was a garbage film.

I haven't watched Conclave, but many Christians were offended. I have a much bigger tolerance for media that insult my beliefs, but I still haven't been able to make myself to watch it.

Someone at work sent me a video laughing at the tranny movie and holy shit. The weirdest thing is that it can be incredibly based with the drug kingpin turning trannie and being forgiven to doing absolutely heinous shit against humanity.

It is insulting to the Catholic Church, but honestly for me it was that the entire plot continuously proves the conservative cardinals are right, yet a cardinal who's only been so for a few months and whom no one knew the existence of before a few days ago becomes the Pope because of a hippie speech at the end. The plot is so contrived to make way for leftist politics.

Oher Oscar controversies happened during the show. Giving Emilia Perez 13 nominations is going to make people not watch the Oscars because nobody wants to see more of their movies lose to a tranny fanfic, and the star's Xeets are going to turn away the liberal crowd.

while that makes sense, i do enjoy the theory of it being "the odd man out" considering Capote was also nominated that same year, meaning two different fag films to chose, crash was the only non-period piece movie up for best picture and the "lightest" one and you have to consider how many people would have voted for Crash over two fag films, a black and white film, and a jew film.

Troon lead single handedly chucking as much gasoline and pitch around Emilia Perez and setting it all ablaze to ruin chances of it winning awards is far more interesting than anything the Oscars will actually end up doing, but I still wouldn't be surprised if this shit ends up winning more awards than it deserves (which is zero). An unexpected development, but welcome.
I'm more surprised that our allegedly more tolerant and progressive brothers and sisters out there haven't taken the frog director to task regarding what he said about how Spanish is the language of poor and migrant countries. If Orange Man said it you'd bet that people would be on him in a femtosecond, but quite curious how they're silent here!
