Oscars 2025

Adrien Brody winning for another Holocaust movie is kind of funny.
Weird how the caracter's name is the real name of the lunatic who tried to destroy the La Pieta statue, what are the odds?
really just a sign that troon influence is hemorraghing. they definitely intended to give him best actress.
Nah its because of the tweets that showed up, which were very tame by anyone's standards but literally hitler for hollywood.
Racist tweets trump trannyism for sure now.
Nah even during 2020 when a black guy ran over a tranny protesting for his rights other trannies apologized to the black guy.

He's a relic of 2015 - 2023 where nothing was funny, everything was offensive and everything was safe. I'm glad he isn't being booked anymore and is having to compete for views on YouTube to make ends meet.
Jimmy Kimmel is actually a relic of the early 2000s humor with his The Man Show where he was purposefully misogynistic and offensive, and coasted off of his reputation despite never having actually been funny ever. All he has ever done is pander to a specific audience and nothing else.
Conan has always been funny and no matter how many cringe posts he makes about Haiti he will probably always be able to be funny.

Yeah, that's fair. Kimmel, John Oliver, Seth Meyers (Meyer?) etc... are all part of the "in" group. Like, you'd be watching something and one of these talentless hacks would show up in and ruin whatever it was immediately. And it's all because they're in with the crowd despite like you said, not being funny at all.

This is why I'm happy to see YouTube and Internet content in general demolish their TV audiences and force them to compete with the likes of Mr. Beast for views on a highly-saturated platform rather than a TV which has a tiny amount of content diversity. KSI starts showing up in real life on the TV and pretending like he's important and relevant, but that's a small price to pay in exchange for seeing the "late night" talk show bullshit disappear

I really liked Anora (literally laughed so hard I cried when watching it in the theater), but I feel like winning an Oscar this early is going to be a curse on Mikey Madison's career. Then again, she publicly thanked "sex workers," completely missing the bleakness of "sex work" that was portrayed in the film she starred in, so I guess I don't care.

The Substance was pretty good, until it got really, really stupid in the last half hour. But I still would've given Demi the acting award over Mikey. Demi was great throughout the entire film.

I didn't see any of the other films, lol.

“Sex Worker” is one of my most hated neologisms. Whores aren’t building cars or pounding steel; they give blowjobs and sell pictures of their assholes to sad men online. Their “work” deserves no dignity or respect.
I hadn't even heard of it. It sounds like that Julie Roberts 'hooker with a heart of gold' but not a romcom. Pretty Woman thing.

The tranny self sabotaged himself and the movie, which is the most ironic part of this. The troon propaganda was like the only reason this garbage movie got 13 nominations and the tranny ruined it.

I'm watching back clips and the whole Quincy Jones tribute was pretty funny on a meta level. They're taking time to honour a guy wth a tangential relationship to the movie business instead of David Lynch. They make it musical performance, which is a tacit admission none of the songs nominated this year were good enough for their own performance. Instead they get Queen Latifah to poorly perform songs from the Wiz (black wizard of oz from the 70s) and the entire time go out of their way not to mention Michael Jackson who was a crucial part of Quincy Jones' success and one of the few good things about The Wiz. The audience barely pretends to care and I can't imagine viewers at home knew or cared wtf was going on.
I don't know how the people running this show don't have a constant existential crisis at the absolute state of this.

If they couldn't jerk themselves off over troons, they got the next best thing: muh sex workerinos.
I think the reason why demi didn't win is precisely because her movie is a veiled middle finger to how hollywood values women, meanwhile anora is a celebration of prostitution which is no surprise since in boomer times it was well known most actresses moonlighted as hookers and most of the time sucked their way to the top, the ones who refused only made it out of raw talent and would get ratfucked for not putting out. Its only now and after poundmetoo that we're supposed to be surprised that this happened and have to pretend its not happening anymore.

That's funny, because the Grammys' tribute to Jones was capped off with fake-lesbian Janelle Monae doing a poor MJ impersonation, performing one of his Off the Wall songs (the poorness of the performance was baffling considering Monae was actually really good at impersonating MJ, as well as James Brown, early on in her career).

I think another Leaving Neverland documentary was just announced, though, so maybe that's why.

Don't see it as veiled its a pretty overt discussion of it with quite a lot of body horror.
