I would just like to say: the substance was a good movie.
its like a cronenberg body horror movie set in the 90s. kind of similar to neon demon if anyone liked that.
It's not an oscar movie, but in my opinion it was a movie worth watching.
It's the only film in the line up that I thought was actually interesting.
the rest of the shit in the oscars was just slop.
although i guess i dont know for sure because i didnt bother watching the trans neo vagina musical or adrian brodies jew lover architecture movie. maybe they were great but i doubt it.
but substance was good.

I was curious, so looked up this Emilia Perez movie. I don't watch many current films.

emilia perez was the meme movie where they did a musical about giving the tranny gender affirming surgery.
absolutely satanic stuff.

but it's a real movie and they brought it to an award show

I have never heard of Anora until now, nor have I heard of anyone talking about it. Meanwhile I have heard plenty of people (in real life and online) gush about how amazing "The Substance" was and that Demi Moore did a fantastic job in it.

I can confirm both to be true. Great movie with great acting, would recommend. Sucks Demi lost, it's kind of funny that she lost to a prettier younger actress given the theme of The Substance.

The crazy part is the Cartel boss even though they become a tranny they think they're a good person because they're a "wahman" now but they're not as it's shown through out the film and the tranny even acts like an abusive psycho towards their ex wife but the French director doesn't even get his own film so he makes Emilia into an immaculate Virgin Mary saint when it's not even deserved.

Imagine people like El Mencho or El Chapo Guzmán turning themselves into trannies with an axe wound between their legs and now that they're trannies they understand their error of their ways and they want to do good now because "they're women now".

Elle Driver showing up was fun....I guess. The awards where they had like 5 different people up there was weird as all hell. Why was La Diabla Blanca's ex up there, @Molly Millions?

Apparently Emilia Pérez was based on a book? I cannot find anything about it in English tho

this is what hollywood does to a nigga. plain and simple.
hollywood will try to tell you it was in him all along, but thats a lie.
it's not in anyone to mutilate themselves like what happened with him or gosling.

Oh Gosling didn't go troon thank fuck. I was just saying Carlos kind of reminds me of him visually. Definitely not in the present because Carlos as a woman looks like a drug dealing botoxed beaner with fat lips.

Dune II should have won best picture and it isn't even close. They shot a scene using a UV camera which was like the most striking thing I've seen on a screen in years and it wasn't even nominated for cinematography.

Reminder that the nominees for 2004 were Master & Commander, Return of the King, Seabiscuit, Mystic River and Lost in Translation. Even if they weren't your cup of tea, we could at least agree that they were all movies that people at large liked.

This year's list of literally-whos just shows the Academy cares more about being transgressive fart sniffers than movies.
