OSRS / Old School Runescape - Medieval Cookie Clicker

The entire reason I wanted to get membership in the first place was to go hunt kebbits.
I remember looking through the hunter unlocks and for whatever reason thought hunting kebbits would just be so cool.

Sadly, a lot of stuff like that would end up being dead content because it was just more efficient to power level off random level 35 methods until like 79 because it was easier to afk.
To this day I still kinda think that Hunter has some of the worst integration into the game world of any skill in the game. The fact that almost all "hunter training areas" are just fucking big plains of nothingness with random animals hopping around is so lame.
Unless you go out of your way to do hunter, then there's almost nothing to really inspire a new player to look into the skill.

Very trve but Feldip Hills hunter area was a very comfy place to be in 2006/7, I have very good memories of hogging the red chin spawns while playing at the public library computer lab after school.

To be fair, that's sorta accurate to how it is in real life lol, but I get what you're saying.

I haven't played the game in a long time, but from when I did play outside of liking the skill there really was no reason or integration for Hunter in the game, aside from Chinchompa's I guess, and even then chins were such a big thing you could sort of categorize them as their own activity/money making method rather than something you're doing to train Hunter.

Even when it came to quest requirements for hunter all the requirement ever ended up being used for was "mouse hunt" ass hijinks where you either chase something around like a clown, or prop up a big rock to smash something that you lure under it.

They've done more in osrs to make Hunter "better" as in a skill that pays out for other skills/activities. The hunter crossbow was alright but not great, but the new (as in not from original 2000s release) sunlight hunter crossbow in many ways eclipses the rune crossbow as a strong baseline crossbow because it's more comparable to a one handed magic shortbow without the spec. The mixed hide armor is also supposed to complement the weird aztec throwing spears you make from the Varlamore hunting contracts which use your Strength bonus for damage. While those aren't particularly good, the armor doubles as melee gear since all but the chaps provides a strength bonus. The cape is an option if you don't have a fire cape. The food from dashing kebbits and Varlamore animals is also not terrible but it's weird, it heals maybe a few points more than food of the same cooking level, but it does half immediately and then the other half a few ticks later.

If they had more ideas like that on launch I think it would've been appreciated more. The camo gear still doesn't do anything the same as 2007.

If it makes you feel better, tracking kebbits is actually still a great way to actively train hunter thanks to the existence of pursuit rings. Between that, hunter rumors, and falconry standing the test of time piscatoris isnt totally dead even in the current year but birdhouse runs also make it all kinda optional since birdhouses are a gradual secondary way to train hunter like a second farming anyway so i get the sentiment.

Well anyways here’s my son and I getting 99 fletching.

Vale totems made this very enjoyable

They raise prices, plebbitors make a stink but going to p(l)ay anyway. Like always Jagex is lucky people are too addicted to quit and there's no competition. Although I can see people dropping some of their alts.
Yeah at the end of the day majority of the players are simply going to see it as just a +$1/mo increase and either keep playing or drop the game if they already had a foot out the door.

It's the cost of one goyslop meal a month. You can't afford one less McDonald's to keep playing if you still enjoy it?

For the redditor this is a difficult decision, also they may be using it as an excuse because they also hate Mod North for killing fag event development.

I'm kind of astonished how many of them seemed to have been blindsided by this after MTX was cut. The private equity firm they've been bouncing around as responsible is funny, it's like blaming God for making you shit yourself after you willingly drank a bottle of pondwater

It’s just free content for content creators to complain about for engagement just like for redditors it’s free up doots.

Maybe I don’t care about price increases because I never fell into the premier membership trap and I’m still grandfathered to a price from when OSRS released, but there’s no other mmo like OSRS that also has 1:1 gameplay on mobile and it’s also one of the few games where you don’t fall behind constantly like in WoW.

But idk I guess if people somehow feel like they aren’t getting a good value at .50c a day for the online MMO that they spend like 1-4 hours a day playing then maybe society is doomed to be retarded because the same people will defend their choice to buy a beverage everyday which gets consumed in a few minutes, or cigarettes or weed

Sounds like a fine tradeoff to me in exchange for no RS3 microtransactions but I used to play RS3. I can understand OSRS players that want nothing to do with RS3 being a little upset. The only other option I see is cut RS3 entirely, merge the teams or layoff devs and just stick to developing OSRS.

They didn't even get rid of ALL of the MTX in RS3. They just killed Treasure Hunter.
Nor did they really do it for the "good of the game", Jagex saw the writing on the wall with the UK slowly shambling towards banning paid gambling mechanics in games like RS3 and so had no choice. There is still cosmetic MTX in RS3, as well as bonus XP MTX, and of course bonds. The idea that they cut out all of the MTX in RS3 is retarded and just false information.
Nothing was done "for the good of the game", it was done "for fear of regulation"

If you can't see that this is the Private Equity Firm gearing up to sell Jagex for a massive profit (as happens every 1-3 years now, and it's been 2) then IDK what to say. I wouldn't be surprised if they were planning on selling it to a Saudi company which is why they nuked pride shit (the right things for the wrong reasons lmao)

I play more rs3 myself and I wouldn't like that as an option. They're putting a lot behind rs3 by killing microtransactions and dedicating themselves to fixing stuff like they just made a modernization of combat styles to be smoother in rotations like necromancy since that was a modern built up combat style. They definitely still want it to be the "main game" since it's just RuneScape and not RuneScape Modern or some other moniker. I think it's got some cool stuff and it is definitely easier, like the tool belt carrying absolutely everything you need for skilling and teleporting and travel being everywhere. I won't deny it has modern conveniences that makes it EasyScape but I like quests and bosses so the fact a lot of skilling content is even easier is not an issue with me. The fucking mindless reddit drones who are addicted to number go up fascinate me when they bitch about quests. They bother to throw in voice acting and some mild theatrics and great music and they just want to mash through it because it rewards new skilling content or something else useful.

The new "Glamourer" plugin on RuneLite lets you recolor items, which is pretty cool to do stuff like colormatching gear that clashes
However, there is a more important use of it I realized. which is to remind Weimarites that they aren't allowed to have anything nice:

Yup, that's a nice set of recolors!

I generally only play leagues, but I really want to see if they have the balls to go past the $15 a month that WoW has never changed from.

They could. Easily. I think Jagex knows they're selling digital heroin like Factorio devs know they're selling digital crack.

Care to drop the plate JSON?

Edit: nvm, I'd never used it, took me a bit to figure out how to make it less tedious. Might be recoloring those jagex crown shirts into the nazi color scheme for shits and giggles! You're also missing the flower crowns.
