It's kinda like Left 4 Dead and I think that's cool.Anyone play Uprising yet? Fantastic spin on Horde mode.
A new Overwatch hero who is really on the Spectrum!

Indeed. The whole point of this is team work and knowing your role yet for some reason I've had people going solo in ridiculously far places when they need reviving and getting us all killed or Mercy's who don't even heal and would rather run off and try to gun down huge amount of enemies on their own like it's Call of Duty.Uprisning is really fun when your team ain't a bunch of morons. People don't group together at all. They run amok. It is annoying as shit.
The usual time frame is 3-4 months but they said the next character is further along than usual. It's possible they might put it out for the one year anniversary of release.Wonder how long it will be until they put out the next hero?
I agree, but you can't earn the difficulty achievements in that mode. I guess if you could it'd be easy to cheese it.Uprising as all heroes is much more fun than the classic team. Did a match of D.va, Orisa, 76, and Zenyatta earlier and roflstomped on Hard.
This is precisely why. If you have at least Zenyatta and Bastion you can melt anything that gets in your way like it's nothing.I agree, but you can't earn the difficulty achievements in that mode. I guess if you could it'd be easy to cheese it.
I love Uprising, I just wish it didn't take twenty minutes, it makes playing it over and over for the achievements pretty tedious. But that's just achievement hunting in general.
my friends also kind of suck at what they pick, but at least it's better than going solo-queue
I honestly get shit luck when it comes to randoms in solo que Uprising. Normal mode is piss easy so long as people know how to use each character, but Hard takes some real trial and error to figure out what works and it's REALLY difficult to convince the Reins in the last segment to not go off trying to ROFLstomp those annoying Bastions instead of just shielding, because (and I admit I only know this from doing it) the evil Bastions have a heal rate GREATER than the DPS that Rein alone can apply WHILE firing on other people. You can take these assholes out relatively easily on normal which I think is the problem, because that indicates you can do the same on harder difficulties. In truth, though, you absolutely NEED to focus fire on enemies in the last segment and only go after the Bastions if A) they're being particularly full of bullshit and B) the OR14-NS targets are not also an immediate threat. Otherwise, once the last OR14 dies then you're done and don't need to worry about the Bastions. In theory, since obviously I've yet to BEAT the Hard mode.
Of course, those fucking Orisa clones just love abusing the shit out of their shields and it makes going after the Bastions first super tempting. God I wish I had people I could reliably team up with but ultimately all I miss out on if I don't clear anything past hard is just some achievements which have arbitrary values (what are those for anyway?) and a few sprays I'd probably never use.
On the other hand, I don't think there's an event-exclusive skin I DON'T like this time around. So far I've only drawn nine boxes (free event box + two rank ups + three normal arcade victory boxes + the free win boxes from both forms of Uprising) and the number of dupes is annoying as always, but the second box gave me the Widowmaker Talon skin. Personally, that's the best one as the normal blue skin in 90% of all her options, lore appropriate or not, makes her look like a Smurf to me, and it wins over my old favorite Huntress because the gun is more geometric and industrial looking which is more my style. I hope by the end of this I manage to at least get Tracer's, Genji's (even though I hate this character and never play him, that's the only actual CYBORG skin and it's amazeballs), and Mercy's skins, too.
Oh, and somehow I managed to get that daunting 'Escort Duty' achievement by simply parking Orisa on the Numbani payload on the first time I'd ever actually used her in a match. So that's all the map achievements done at least.
What heroes would you guys say are no-go's for Uprising? I tried it on hard the other day and I'm pretty sure we ended up losing the payload because someone was playing Junkrat.
For hard, I found that Torb's turret worked best placed off the payload. Since the players are clustered on the bomb, putting the turret there just increased its chances of getting wrecked. What I also found was that the only reasonable method of quickly dispatching smaller mooks was headshots only. Torb and Mercy have to be aiming for the head, while Rein shields and Tracer disrupts. What I've also found is that the Tracer player absolutely needs to be able to manage recall and blink effectively or they're going to be spending a lot of time down. Torb and Rein players needn't be fucking up at all, if they do they shouldn't be using them. Mercy is surprisingly tricky with the balance between heals and boosts being rather fine mid combat.

Genji, Junkrat, Hanzo, Ana, and McCree are mostly no gos. For me, I found that D.va, Orisa, 76, and Zenyatta curbstomped on hard.
