Thanks to this shit game, most multiplayer FPS now have a phoned-in Specialist system, akin to heroes in the game. BF2042 is just many victims of this crap system and seeing the complete decline of OW in general, I think its fair enough to say that the game is dead in terms of soul and intention.

Don't forget that OW also brought us the loot crate craze. It brought so much joy to the gaming world.

I do love how they're conflating Cole Cassidy with a "dead name" when that's the person's birth name, not their preferred gender name and Cole Cassidy is the complete opposite.

And the idea a man who's seen death, dealt death, and experienced first hand some of the world's worst would flinch at the mention of his goofy cowboy name is priceless. What cucks every person in the world must be through their eyes.

Not the strong independent ladies of Blizzard who couldn't say no, slap any of these men in the moment, or make any effort to stop their tortured work life for months and months though. They're the real heroes.

Threatening violence over the made up name of a video game character? I feel unsafe!!! Who do I sue about this?

Honestly if we assume the name comes from Cole Younger and Butch Cassidy... well both of those guys did a lot worse things than ... whatever game developer Jesse McCree seems to have done. What exactly did he do? I can't find anythiing specific so I'm going to assume he told a dirty joke in mixed company until further proof of wrongdoing can be produced.

The company literally had a “Cosby room” and had no privacy protection for the room allowed for breastfeeding. I know the whole “sexually assalted” accusations gets thrown around a lot, but Blizzard was literally a sterotype of the worst examples.

Cole Cassidy also just doesn't roll off the tongue the same way Jesse McCree does, nor is it as memorable. As a fun lil exercise, I tried to come up with a handful of better names by messing around with combinations of the first and last names of both real life figures of the Wild West and famous western actors.

Clint Cassidy (Clint Eastwood, Butch Cassidy) (this one's my personal favorite because alliteration, but I also looked it up and realized that it's already the name of the main character from a 90's country medical drama starring Billy Ray Cyrus so I dunno if it'd fly LMFAO)
John Cassidy (John Wayne, Butch Cassidy)
Sam Holliday (Sam Elliot, Doc Holliday)
Kit Houston (Literally just taking different bits of Kit Carson's full name and splicing them together lmao)
Remington Reeves (Remington rifles, Bass Reeves) (My second favorite, since the first got snatched by Billy Ray)

And these were just from like, ten minutes of brainstorming, if that. In my opinion, all of these are more memorable and Wild West sounding than the one that they went with. And as an added bonus, none of them would have him share the name with a bona fide porn star.

God that CoLe CassiDy is such a low level effort. Like the game does not get updates, heroes, maps because "we are working at new content, ya'll" and suddenly it appears that they have enough resources to craft that piece of crap no one asked for. I hope that one day Kotick does what bliz truly deserves - delegates them making battlepasses for warzone, because they are too bankrupt for anything else.

And the name will always be McCree, fuck you faggots.

i remember when overwatch released in 2015 there was all this talk of PvE maps...eventually fighting through things like the omnic crisis.

If I recall correctly they did not know themselves what to do with the game, cause it was some project Titan in its origin, dumped and remade as OW. They lacked any strategy or vision and OW2 popped on the horizon when they fucked up with HK, I don't think they even had a concept when they said it, so they decided "lets go with pve thingy", even though the PVE events were the most dull parts of the game. The whole story of OW is a ready book of "How you fuck-up your game".

I still don't understand what was bad about the "Cosby Suite" outside of its unfortunate joke naming in hindsight. If I understand the timeline of events correctly, while the accusations against Cosby has been around for a long time, this was before the public consensus that the accusations were true, correct?

I think any version or example of you callling the business hotel room the “rape room” is probably a really really REALLY stupid idea, business-wise.
