I strongly suspect the censorious OW devs here don't really know anymore about the RL Jesse McCree and what he supposedly did than we do, simply spurred by their worst assumptions about him. Blizzard is a large, compartmentalized company, and the guy never worked on Overwatch. It appears that the producer above has only been at Blizzard since 2017, long after the "Cosby Suite", and most of her fellow complainants are probably even newer.

Even with this she can fuck off with this bullshit because the only person that probably "fought hard" are the VAs that have to now re-record every line and the fact that the team had to also go in and redo a lot of things for a last minute name change.

Seems to be a thing about these lerger companies ain't it? Just to pretend they are addressing this situation they want to completely nuke Mecree from the company and the further fact is people who actually look deeper into the situation find out that he is so disconnected from the game that this reaction is nothing more than kneejerk.

"game journalist" - say nothing else. I have never encountered ppl who hated the job they do more than game journos. Liz probably wanted to work at WP or Forbes, but well she did not make it and now she is "esport journo" covering the most useless thing possible - OWL. In other words, bottom of the bottoms. Of course, for Liz and her bosses, the concept that the company should prioritize the opinion of people who pays for your shit (gamers) is intolerable.

"Hey we can make this change and all we'd have to do is replace some voice lines - should be pretty easy. All the VAs can do it from their house and it would probably take like a week and cost almost nothing".

The game itself was already leading up to be a dumpster fire because it's just Overwatch Some More with the only "new" thing is them trying to make a full game out of a free update they did every now and again for events.

People who have tested the game are reporting that it "shockingly" looks and plays exactly like Overwatch 1 which is a disingenuous statement, of course it plays exactly like OW1, it has to be this way because the PvP part of the game has crossplay with the original title, both share the same base code to work flawlessly. OW2 is literally OW1 Remastered. I wish the game would flops but I have zero faith on this happening because the "usual suspects" Twitch streamers are going to be paid out the ass to play and hype the game on launch and the NPC coomsumers are going to eat it up.

It's sad because even Destiny 2 at least attempts to be more than just Destiny Some More. Difference is Destiny tried to pull itself up and be more than just another flop from 2015's era of those online only wannabe MMO games for casuals. OW started as a slog and has ended like one and they're hoping OW2 would pick up the torch but your first game needs to leave a good impression before you can consider the sequel can pick up the pace.

But of course we still have the normalized drone masses who see new shiny thing with a different number on the end and buy it at full price "just to see what it's about" when their advertising of the game can't even go beyond "Hey you know that specifiic event that we gave you for free? Well now we're gonna charge you for it"

As far as I heard their "grand plan" with OW2 was to sale PVE and update OW1 to OW2 PVP-wise for everyone else for free. With that totally lunatic business model I don't expect that it will be a huge success. Like who needs PVE in OW? Stupid cartoonish shit with zero impact and zero lore where I have to shoot at stupid robots? Thanks, but there is enough other shooters around for that.

Have you seen the "remastered models" for OW2? They are such generic shit that at first I thought I had mistaken a site. If they are gonna update the graphics like that, it is not like OW, it's worse than OW.

The only sane reason I see for OW2 even existing at this point is intriduction of more agressive monetisation model, I mean battlepasses, of course. Kotick said that he considers Warzone's model a huge success, I am pretty sure that this is the only future of OW. Everything else is marketing bullshit.

Remastered just means they look less like they came from Source Filmmaker and the developers actually learned how to use Blender

destiny 2 was and still is dogshit tho. nothing in it's entire run compares to d1 after TTK and ROI, as much as people tried to meme forsaken was a "return to form" (which is getting removed next year, lul).

while I don't have a lot of faith in dumb normie sheep, it's not that easy to get them to buy your shit, there's a reason marketing budgets are as bloated as they are, and then there's still no guarantee they'll bite, just look at stuff like valorant which most of them don't even know.
the thing about normies is they might have the memory of a goldfish, but they still have some lingering emotions associated with stuff, which is part of what makes them so fickle. sure, there will be plenty who gonna buy it, just look at diablo 2, but ow1 doesn't even have much nostalgia going for it, it's still too young that the bad stuff hasn't been memory holed yet. it also doesn't help that 2021 blizzard isn't 2016 blizzard, if you buy ow2 you're buying a game from a misogynistic company who turned their poor innocent workers into sex slaves, so word of mouth, on top of the state ow1 ended in won't necessarily work in their favor either. not to mention all the memes constantly shitting on blizzard and people probably keep doing so, I don't really expect blizzard to change course anytime soon, if ever. another thing about normies, they want to play what's "cool" and popular right now to be part of the "in crowd", everyone shitting on ow2 will reduce that shine real quick. and if there's another game stealing the spotlight, ow2 is pretty much done for (that was a big part of blizzard's strategy in the past, banking on their brand power crushing the competition with release dates).

Nowadays they've fucked up so many series' like Warcraft, Diablo, OW etc i don't fully understand why people continue to support them unless they're an absolute mouthbreather. We are past the days of blissful ignorance where people can seperate the artist from their art because their henious acts are right here in our faces. I mean they changed the name of character because of some dude who doesn't even work on Overwatch.

I just want to state the fact that McCree and Sombra is a more realistic and grounded ship than gookbowman is with him. May be the stereotype of American Cowboy and Mexican rose, but I'm so sick and tired of gay shippers ruining fanbases, I hope they just go all out on the McSombra stuff they've been hinting at for ages. The amount of salt could possibly result in the greatest chimpout since the Hong Kong fiasco.

Just update OW1 with more than 4 good skins every season, actively balance your game around the active user base and not the e-sports league, update your fucking seasonal event game modes, add more maps and shut the fuck up.

It's so fucking easy and yet they keep failing at doing the bare minimum. It's infuriating.

Fun fact: Blizzard has officially put more effort into erasing Jesse McCree's name in-game in a few weeks/months than they have done tweaking a six year old game mode like Lucio Ball to, y'know, work.

"AT LEAST THIS WAY IT WON'T BE LIKE CYBERPUCK 2077," the pundits will inevitably chime. You're a fucking disease, deaf, and blind, I reply.

Wouldn't surprise me if their tranny developers simply keep delaying it time after time until it ends up in them shitting themselves then doingn nothing or simply cobbling together a shitty update to add a game mode and one more stage to their PVE modes.

It wouldn't be a surprise, they've been half assing everything since 2018 that nobody expects anything at this point.
