Palworld - Everything you have ever wanted from a Pokemon game

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
So random question for people on the server. How often do you guys utilize the glider mechanic while playing the game? This includes pals that allow you to glide.
Extremely often. It's usually faster to jump down from a height and glide at the last second to avoid fall damage than it is to ride something down. If you have a multi-level base, a glider and a grappling hook makes moving around it a lot easier.

I don't use gliding pals though. Can't justify taking up the slot when a Wumpo could be in that spot and enhancing my carry weight.

Gliding Pals has been my primary means for transportation as I don’t want to just grab a flyer and instantly fly anywhere on the map

Carry weight is even more worthless. Use the respec potion. And Hangyu is the fastest method of transportation outside of Jetdragon.

Meant to ask before went to the first small village and the NPC merchants aren't there either not sure if thats a bug or intentionally.

They were killed or captured at some point. Those particular merchants don't respawn afaik, but the ones in the other two villages do, for some reason. Luckily wandering merchants visiting your base is way more common in recent patches than it used to be.

They appear less than raids at a .5% rate for each roll while raids appear .8%. On my server I bumped it up to 5% because everyone kills them. My advice is to catch one if you see them.

Must have been really recently, cause I was there early this morning and they were both there.

Sometimes the NPCs take a while to load on the server, I’ve noticed. First time I went there I had to hang out for a couple minutes before they spawned in.

Might be the case i'll give it a go again shortly and see if it works.

I have decided after several weeks of work and effort, that I am unable to fix the performance and stability problems plaguing the server. It will remain up in its current state with consistent down times.

The issues are a direct result of memory leaks in Palworld's programming. Our server is just very large from a structure standpoint which makes them more apparent in our case.

No amount of performance enhancement or hardware upgrades will fix this in the long term. Even with a server running 60GB of RAM consistent failures occured around the 8 hour mark. Even trying to use a 1 Terabyte NVME drive as a virtual memory cache fails eventually due to degraded read times which causes the save operation to time out. Eventually halting the program.

Mods will be reinstalled tomorrow. I'm grateful for the time we had together, but I understand if you want to find another place to game. Cross your fingers and hope Pocket Pair fixes this in the next update.

I’ll stick around. The drop/downtime is a little annoying, but it’s honestly also worked really well as a “now’s a good time to take a break from playing” guide. Plus I like the area I’ve made for myself and I’ve still really enjoyed playing on the server.

As for them fixing it, best you can do is report it as a bug. They seem pretty open to listening to people and fixing stuff. And they definitely have the money for it.

When she starts shifting to phase 2 (around 10-15%), just focus on reloading and getting ready. Even if you can crank out enough dps to drop her health entirely, you cannot stop phase 2.
I actually just tested this, and it can be skipped, but it’s definitely kind of a gamble. You essentially have to wait until her health is incredibly low, and then shoot a rocket into the back of her head from your mount. If you’re lucky, she’ll be stunned on the campfire and the rest of her HP will drain before she recovers.

It looks like you get around 2 hours between crashes. Not sure how long it takes to reboot.

EDIT:I've set a task to reboot the server every even hour on the dot. 00:00,02:00,04:00 etc. It usually takes 10 or 15 minutes to boot. This should give some consistency, and help you figure out the best time to try catching legendaries/dungeoneering. Mods are enabled again as well.

If anyone is interested and on the server, I have 8 Belanoir’s Slabs to use. Gonna find an open area and set a second base for a few fights if anyone needs the drops/Eggs.
