Palworld - Everything you have ever wanted from a Pokemon game

It does. In a broad sense. You can go anywhere you want when you upgrade your mount. And you can catch anything you want whenever. The difference is the lack of being able to catch mons without combat. So it’s slower Legends if anything. And i don’t know why. Trainer Battles are plentiful - though they really need to go back to if spotted you fight. As it is you can skip them. - But point is I don’t think being able to stealth some mons in SV would have been too much of an issue.
Except for the fact that Gyms, Team Star bases, and Titan Pokémon still have a clear completion order via their set levels. It’s also a pain in the ass to catch the higher-level Pokémon in the “later game” areas when you only have basic Poké Balls.
The A team was on Arceus and the SV was handled by the B team iirc. I say B put it would probably be more accurate to say the new talent they are trying to train up because the old guard seems to want to retire
It’s less to do with the A team wanting to retire and more along the lines of them wanting to develop other shit, most of the recent non-Pokémon GF titles (like wet fart that was Little Town Hero) were developed by GF’s A team.
Even still, both of the mainline games before and after sold nearly twice as much as the comparatively superior side game. The Pokemon fans care more about the brainless games.
To be fair to PLA here it’s hard to compete with a game that’s two different retail versions and, as a result of that, will get double the amount of sales.

Arceus had that as an obvious intended order as well and is also hard with just Poke Balls. But in both games Poke Balls are so easy to get that it’s more tedious than anything.

Retire from Pokemon then 😃

Does that actually track? I’ve always wondered if like there is almost a 50/50 split in sales.

Heh.

Somehow I have managed to completely miss the desert settlement. The shit they sell there is pretty nice lmao. I guess if I wanted to be a complete murderhobo and just get all my resources with money, this is how.

I'm pretty sure the first time you discover a settlement, no NPCs are able to spawn in it. Happened with both the desert settlement and the small settlement so far for me, which makes it easy to dismiss as "another ruin"

I really want to see better terrain details, I must say. While what we have so far isn't bad it's not terribly adventurous in scope.

Where are my big vast plains? My jungles? Why is the desert so damn small?
You mean the desert with the Anubis boss or the much bigger desert island with its own town and boss tower?

I think my favorite bit of terrain has been that spot where it looks like some massive blast tore through the earth, exposing lava and the ground shooting upwards in jagged chunks. Then you go to what looks like where the source of the plat came from and it’s just the skeleton of a giant extinct Pal.

Hoping Pal AI is fixed for verticality at some point. A friend of mine tried putting some of her Pals' beds on a 2nd/3rd story floor and good lord none of the Pals can route to the beds above 2nd floor and above.
Did they try making the stairs 2sets wide? Give more room for the AI to follow the pathing?

I like the giant extinct Pal skeletons you see in the water, too.

I maintain that some terrain really needs an overhaul. Half of the starter islands are really fucking bland and barren, and not even in a comfy way like being rolling plains or badlands.

I like how every time I see someone seething on Twitter over Palworld and bringing up the same exact bunch of screenshots that were originally posted by the one guy who admitted he had no experience in the industry whatsoever, the person trying to point to model and mesh size similarities always inevitably admits that they themselves are not an industry professional either.

I will give Pokémon credit for being able to make memorable characters like Larry still. There are full generations where I can’t name a single leader or elite four, but they can still knock it out of the park now and then, and that’s something you won’t get from Palworld.
Larry is easily one of the best gym leaders bar none.
