Palworld - Everything you have ever wanted from a Pokemon game

What's your favorite pals? I'll start.

This is my boy. You can ride on his back. I have spawn turned up to x3 on my server. Whenever I see one, I catch it. Been doing it since the start of the game even under leveled. I've done it with the common sphere or mega spheres. Doesn't matter if I have a broken axe or I am out of ammo with all my pals dead. I'm getting him. I run level 16 caves, but I haven't gotten a Alpha yet. I fucking will though. Then I'll grind all of them into soup and max out my pal souls on it. I will craft a lumbering flower headed Kaiju of death so absolute, that it shall strike fear into the hearts of all. That is my mission, and I will accomplish it.

Had a fun little encounter earlier. I was trying to capture a Mammorest, managed to get its health low, he starts running away up a hill towards some trees so I follow. Went in to throw a capture sphere and before I could throw it, he turns around and walks on top of me, causing me to clip into the boulder I was standing on.

I tried rolling, climbing, nothing worked, I was stuck. Even tried quitting to the main menu and loading back in, still stuck in that boulder. I was finally able to get out by summing my Nitewing and riding it, somehow the game let her clip through the boulder even though I wasn't able to.

So far that's the only glitch I've encountered, it's been smooth sailing aside from that.

Have you gotten a Maraith yet? Idk how you can get much spookier than legally distinct Duskull.
Not yet, haven't encountered one. There's still a large chunk of the map I haven't explored.

Speaking of bugs, I've made a base on a beach. The border gets a bit into the water. And now regularly I come to that base after some time, and somebody is fucking dead with no body to be seen anywhere. Within the boundaries there's nowhere to get stuck on and I don't have any ideas of what is happening, because it's always happens when I am away. And it's almost always the same guy.

My first base is similar, but I'm not sure if it's the uneven ground or the water that might be the cause. I'm almost certain I've teleported in/loaded in a few times and some pals get hit by the usual physics engine bug of effectively get bounced off the terrain into the sky, only to wind up landing somewhere in the distance and taking critical fall damage. Could be the same on your end, with the bodies getting sent flying off into the water and sinking somewhere.

On the plus side, I'm glad that pals are capable of rescuing fallen pals and dragging them over to a bed to recover, though it doesn't help if the body gets stuck on a roof or some other impassable terrain. Just stuck manually tossing them into the palbox and getting a scab new friend to pick up the slack.

Got my production setup going at the third base and finally crafted the improved single shot rifle. Unfortunately I was such an autist making sure the pals were getting enough food at their respective bases of improved quality that I never even got to kill anything with it.
It is amusing to get them shits on the line to help me produce a bunch of ammo while a waterfall is seen in background while an Ice mountain juts out from the other.

I can't understand devs and players who did not feel the love in this, like a home cooked gumbo. I

Even disregarding the whole "haha 69 sex lizard lol" she's a monstrous tank despite her comparatively tiny size (at least when bosses are concerned). Damage is kind of ass as you'd expect but she will just wall everything that's thrown at her. Basically my panic button if I screw up in a fight. I hope there's a boss version somewhere.

Built my second base basically right on top of his spawn and already caught him 11 times trying to fish for an actually usable trait (no luck so far). He was already a dreadnought, but the saddle makes him top tier at clearing raids, camps and the like since the grenade launcher ragdolls anything it hits. Don't recommend using it in sealed boss arenas repeatedly, they can clip through the ceiling and get stuck, forcing you to reset the fight.

My digger. He made ore farming just a minor hindrance. Watching him spin and go BRRRR never gets old.

Just a solid flying unit. Started to like him a lot more once I realized you can run out of stamina midair, plummet to the ground from a thousand feet and take no damge whatsoever. Lots of new paldex entries thanks to him and eggs hidden in random elevated spots.

This guy is more of a ballbusting pleasure, because you can catch him at level 22 and his saddle is unlocked at level 34. Motherfucker, just let me fly on you.

So I’ve mainly stuck to my original base, only making a second one to farm coal/ore and probably make the third a breeding area, and like many I made mine by that pond/bridge area near the original spawn point. So I’ve been concerned about space since part of the base outline was essentially underwater and unusable for building.

Today I realized there’s just enough land on the edge of the pond to build foundations, so now I have half my house and two sets of automated production lines hanging over the water, letting the Pals easily get to it and freeing up a ton of space.
My pals always end up stuck in the pond even the fucking flying ones. If I’m out exploring too long I come back and more than half of my workforce starved to death.

It's close, but it's not quite the same, though. I'd like to see ghost as its own stand-alone element, with spookier looking pals.
Is this because you want to be able to butcher Pals and have them come back, only to butcher them again?

I’ve had them get stuck there occasionally after raids, but since I put my house and stuff in the way of the lake, it’s kept them from just wandering in on their own.

Asking as genuinely as possible: How is this closer to Pokemon than monster rancher or digimon? I've seen pvp, basebuilding, raiding, guns, crafting. Pokemon is about collecting pokemon. There is no trainer-on-pokemon combat. This game is a mish-mash of 10 genres and 1 of those is sort of like Pokemon, but might as well be Coromon or any other indie pokemon clone?

The appearance of Pals is the first thing you see and notice when googling the game, hence why nintendrones latched onto it being a ripoff and are pissing, shitting and crying over it. The game itself is like a smoothie of multiple games, grabbing only the most fun elements out of each ingredient.
Just wait until you get the ones that are faster.
I mean he's already sufficiently fast thanks to the +25% speed on the Kingpaca in my party (been trying my hardest to catch a different boss with this trait, he's kind of a dead weight now since carry capacity is no longer relevant), but dear God I do hope Beakon and Quivern are speedier.

The Pals look really close to Pokémon, apparently. That seems to be the main issue, as idiots pushed a lie that the game was made by AI fusing two Pokemon together.

As for flying mounts, I’m currently using Suzaku to get around. Speedy and a lot of stamina.

This game is a crack dealer and I’m an addict.

But seriously, I’m having so much fun with this. Have only played solo so far but I’m level 47 and looking to take in the final tower boss. Cawgnito is my favorite, little plague doctor/Spy guy.

I do have to say though, people are quite retarded when it comes to getting mad about game options you can change. Was listening to people who were rage quitting because they kept dying and dropping their stuff. Like no one’s gonna judge you for turning off death drops. “Eggs take too long” you can literally change how much time eggs take.

It’s a lot like Rimworld in that regard, the inability to cater to your own level is a YOU issue, not a skill issue.

I like this guy, he's a cool dudude.
I'll see your cool dude and raise you a cold dude. I'm a sucker for crystal/ice coatings on stuff ever since I saw freezing rain IRL and the world looked like it was covered in glass. Got this guy from an egg in an area I was way underleveled for

Surfest Terra just looks so cool with the ore sticking out of its back, if I didnt already have two mounts bred for speed, I'd use him. Always the problem with pokemon, you can catch em all, but you cant use em all

And finally, Daedream. My protector at low levels, and my factory employee at high. The glittery hair is lovely to look at

I tried fighting one at like level 7, because I had some cool Pals I went out of my way to get, and thought I was tough shit.

Got my ass kicked near instantaneously. 10/10 cool dude overall.

I hope they add more collar pals to the game, I like feeling like a Terraria summoner even if they do fuck with my building. Maybe one that's water to compliment Dazzi, or an ice pal to occasionally freeze. Wish you could put one on Cinnamoth because passive area poison would be nice.

Probably Sibelyx because it reminds me of Froslass and I like its hat.

If that was the case, everybody would've been affected. But it was always the same guy. Some of them do like to loiter at the edge of the border which is in the water, but nobody went beyound the border in my presence. I am building a fucking wall on the shore. My other bases had this problem on occasions, and I oftenly saw some hungry pals stuck at elevations, unable to get down. So, I chose that flat beach exactly to negate this problem. But here we are.
Just stuck manually tossing them into the palbox and getting a scab new friend to pick up the slack
You can put dead one in a box, and then instantly redeploy to the base. Body will spawn near the palbox, and somebody will drag him to r&r, which is way faster than 10 minutes. That's how I bring the dead guy back.
