Nintendo apparently reported a $41 million loss in litigation costs for the fiscal year.

While it didn’t say what cost them specifically, I think it’s pretty obvious what the main source was.
While an interesting note... It also kinda highlights how dead the thread is, kinda like the lawsuit is the only thing even keeping the game relevant past it's fanbase and the people still coping that the game will somehow dethrone pokemon (if it didn't when it was al the rage, it isn't now) at this point since there's seemingly so little interesting content coming out from the game itself and the you're the only one actually keeping the thread alive, even other survival/sandbox game threads have the occasional poster who puts out a "check out this base I made" post.

You seem oddly salty about it if you have to come on here to make an “ironic” post going “lol no one cares”.

Seems much more interesting than me posting something relevant to the thread topic, but that’s just me.

I've said it before - all Nintendo really had to do was ignore Palworld, and it would've likely faded away on its own. Hell, it had mostly run it's 5 Minutes of Fame as Indie Game Flavor of the Week, and would likely have been relegated to "Niche Fanbase" territory, if not outright becoming yet another piece of Early Access Abandonware, if not for the lolsuit.

I know, JP Copyright Law is a complete clusterfuck to anyone not a lawyer, but the lolsuit just put the spotlight back on Palworld, and its still being updated and drawing respectable indie game numbers.

I wasn't salty, I'm just making an observation, since well... again, this thread doesn't get that much traction beyond you posting these days, I mean sure, it does have a consistent playerbase, but you'd think some form of said playerbase would be kiwis who'd be happy to post here about how thier Pal farms are doing or finding some kind of jank they found funny and not just the occasional tweet PocketPair or someone adjacent to them makes and maybe something lolsuit related if we're lucky.

That's true, but considering how opaque news about the lawsuit has been besides the occasional lawyer commenting on it, I wouldn't be surprised if the general normiesphere has forgotten about the game at the very least. Hell, SteelPlated's Posts have been the only real thing that has been reminding me that the game exists in the first place, and I imagine that's a similar experience for a lot of people who only knew of Palworld it's hayday or early onto the lolsuit when any real news about it or anything related to it comes out.

Back in the day, the farms had a server, and a lot of pics of farms were taken. There was even an absolute mad man who saught to blot out the sky by building a base that spanned continents at the highest levels of the map. I remember doing raids with people on here. Who knows maybe if someone starts a server up again, this thread could get a lot faster if someone with T&H advertised it.

To be honest, the game is dead right now because people are waiting for the 1.0 update. I played it on launch, and I don't really want to start a new world now, just to have to make a new one in the near future when the update drops.
It bummed me out when the old server save file didn't work a year later, due to all of the changes made. At least most people got to export their pals, but I really miss the castle in the sky.

Fair, and sorry for being kinda smarmy about it.

But yeah, I think everyone is mainly just waiting for the 1.0 update. I’ve bred some Pals to the best possible passives and all, but I’m absolutely waiting my for the full release this year to really get into it again. Definitely enjoyed all the updates and stuff they added though.

I am indeed waiting for 1.0. I played it a ton around October/November/December when I last posted here - and by a ton I mean it's now my #1 most played Steam game. All the systems that feed into autistic min-maxing just make the game super addicting to me. Finished the 100% achievements by beating that deer boss they released right around when I was done playing. I hope 1.0's content is pretty extensive, going through all the content added post launch from when I initially played about a month at launch was fun. Hell, I kinda hope they like make an expansion post 1.0... preferably free, but I'd pay for one because I like the game a lot and got way past it's money's worth in it.

I don't share everything I do in video games but I was playing Palworld again a couple of weeks ago myself. I'm mostly waiting on 1.0 before I hit it too hard but I got to have fun with some of the Feybreak content.

I wonder...

I doubt PocketPair would pursue something like this on their own as they are right now. IIRC they've got multiple projects in the works or as WIP.
I believe someone (presumably Sony) is pushing for this, and I wonder if it'll have/are planning on having a separate team working on it.

Or perhaps I'm just seeing things, where in reality they're just grabbing the name early incase they decide to work on an MMO later.

Honestly, I doubt making an MMO right now is a wise or good idea. Not because the idea is bad, but because Palworld itself hasn't reached 1.0/ is still early access.

OR, I've assumed wrong in the first place, and it isn't a plan for an MMO but a service of some kind. In which case it could go anywhere.
Still a bad idea to start more projects right now IMO.
