Man, why are 99% of Paradox games jewtubers such a paid shills? I can't name single "mainstream" one who doesn't lick the swedish butthole as soon as they can get some money from it. Is Paradox knowing that their DLC-selling platforms products are so shit that nobody will like them on their own or what?

This one is not just bootlicking, it is diarrhea-sucking:
For today we have been given early access to cover Victoria 3 thanks to the lovely @Paradox Interactive sponsoring this video of their latest grand strategy game! The lovely developers simply said I had to challenge myself in victoria 3. Perhaps the idea was that I would play the giant british empire or pruissia, perhaps france or russia. But no today I am playing Jan Mayen the worst nation in the entire game! The game is effectively a victorian era mix of a tycoon game like factorio and a war simulator like EU4. Today The Spiffing brit will be seeing if Victoria 3 is a perfectly balanced game with no exploits! The exploit used today is by becoming a protectorate of the russian market we will generate infinite money! Victoria 3 is a beautifully balanced game that's perfect for anyone looking for a thrilling strategy game. In this video, we'll show you how to play Victoria 3 gameplay and how to make the most of its brilliant gameplay. Whether you're a longtime Victoria 2 player or you're new to the game, this video is a must-watch. We'll take you through the basics of the game, guide you through the challenging battles of the economy, and show you how to beat the game! After watching this video, you'll be king or queen of Victoria 3!

Not going to link the video?
That said, for modders its an easy fix by just moving the bombing stats to the base airframe instead of just the mission. Even so, the fact Paradox never bothered to test a basic fucking feature like this is just execrable.
This just boiled my blood. I remember the last time this was an issue and Paradox did jack shit about it other than make everyone wait nine months for the next release. I even asked how hard was it to do a hotfix and I got an answer that it was technically easy but from a management standpoint a nightmare and everyone on the forum just upvoted it like the sycophants they are.

I need to quit giving these fuckers money. I feel embarrassed that I buy their DLCs. They fuck the base game up to sell shit that probably should of been in game in the first place.

Paradox deserves to fail and go under.

So, Victoria 3 got released and at the time of writing, it has 63% (which decreased from 65% just 2 days ago) positive reviews on Steam. It's a huge flop considering 1) it was Steam's #1 selling game for a moment 2) how much money went into marketing of this shit.

Points taken from reading Steam reviews & watching this video:
-The economy, which was promised to be super-duper deep and engaging, is at EUIV's "spend 100 gold for building that gives you +5% gold) levels of depth.
-Wars are as shit as everyone expected
-AI is retarded backs down from diplomatic plays all the time, barely colonizes and does other stupid and unrealistic shit
-Despite claiming they are secondary or even teritary matters, the game pushes you a lot into wars and conquering stuff
-Multiplayer is held by chinese ducktape, it crashes all the time and there are tons of bugs in it
-There is no in-game chat (because "muh toxicity")
-There are barely any events or decision - every country plays the same
-UI is terrible, and forces you to go trough several panels to see stuff like popularity of reform or generals stats
-There is no Spring of Nations, no treaties, not even a proper Scramble for Africa - game feels incredibly empty
-Almost no late-game content exists
-Redditors are coping (and seething) by saying "Ummmm sweatie Victoria 2 was bad on launch too, also they are gonna fix it with patches and DLC's later, so maybe, just maybe stop being such toxic chud?????"
And many, many more.

It may have been Reinforcements in Transit or a Science Ship doing the warp thingy, I've only nuked the Universe once but I know it is intended for shielded worlds to survive so there may be other edge cases they make survive.
So wait can I keep playing if shielded worlds exist? Can I set up shielded worlds in advance just for this?

God, that video is utterly hilarious. The glorious communist utopia hive city of Jan Mayen, frozen rock in the North Sea.

The only thing that Vic 3 has over Vic 2 is its modding capabilities, aside from that its a downgrade from it. Rate me optimistic but I hope that some modders manage to recreate the Vic 2's mechanics in the new engine and maybe make some improvements, since that's what the community wanted, the same game but built upon and improved, not this piece of shit that we got.

Here's a video from Spudgun, a Vic 2 mp youtuber playing the atrocity that is Vic 3 multiplayer, he didn't get sponsored by paradox and has been shitting on its systems since they were revealed. After 12 years, Paradox has still not bothered with fixing the constant out-of-syncing and need to re-host. Spudgun was unable to open the market screen, one of the most important parts of this game because it would make him crash. The most disgraceful information that came out of this video though, imo, is Spudgun revealing that another Paradox mp youtuber, Bokoen1 who did take the sponsorship and made a video shilling the mp, omitted the fact that they had to make a mod to make it playable. Total shitshow.

Here's some other videos criticising the game for it's extremely retarded war & economy systems, and the sheer inaccuracy of the map and countries, from countries having innacurate borders and flags, despite having the correct ones in other paradox games, to some countries such as the Boer Republics already existing, despite being formed in the 1850s, to them making up countries in Africa.

Parajew has a monopoly on mana simulators. And retards keep buying it. This can go on forever.
There's a grand strategy game being developed by some people, including some who have worked on EU4's MEIOU and Taxes, probably its biggest mod, called Grey Eminence. Its been in development for 4 years and they plan to make it very modular and hardcode as little as possible, making it the perfect game for modding. Although it is very ambitious, planning to take place from 1356 to 1956, I would like to be very optimistic, especially since the devs refused several publishing deals since they would've compromised their vision.
Steam page.

Vicky 3 will be worth a pirate in 4 years and it will be carried heavily by mods, wonder if paradox will make any statement regarding the reviews or if they will just cower away for a few months.

I will give them credit, they didn't use steams "Off topic reviews" system yet

Victoria 3 is smoke and mirrors with how complex the game is. Sure, it looks complex as all hell but once you boil it down to it's base components, it's simple as just clicking a button to do something. The amount of white knighting done by ParaSimps is impressive.

Here's a video from Andy's Take for example

What a fucking tool. This game should be judged by what it is not what you want. Fuck you. What most of the vicky 2 fanbase wanted Vicky 2, the Second, a vicky 2 with all the bugs fixed an mp that works and for Paradox to improve the market logic a little bit not Anno 1800 with training wheels.

How embarrassing

What the fuck is he smoking?

I'm still utterly bewildered at the fact that Paradox decided to have all warfighting delegated to AI but instead of using the relatively functional automation from HoI 4 they instead develop a whole new system that has armies teleporting around arbitrary frontlines with completely opaque mechanics that nobody really understands and the people that do manage to figure it reveal that it's even more broken than initially thought and the AI itself has no idea how to use it. They could've just ported over the Area Defense command from HoI4 and tweaked it to make a decent Area of Operations system but they decided to do this instead for some inane nonsensical reason.

It's not like it was an easy thing to make either, from what I've heard the new war system was one of the things they spent the most time on because of how much of a ballache it was to implement, which begs the question of why it was implement in the fucking first place.

6/10 I like it when line go up

It's funny, because after playing Vic3 for an hour, I had an odd sense of deja vu. Not nostalgia for Victoria 2, but a sudden realization that the empty, bland, boring world was very reminiscent of how I felt playing Imperator: Rome on release. It's that same level of fake-depth, where there's a bunch of systems in place, but they ultimately feel totally inconsequential. You can sit on 5x speed in Vic3 for years with effectively nothing of note happening, just technologies that marginally increase numbers being unlocked, or buildings upgrading to make more goods that slightly helps raise the standard of living. It's like an alpha version of the game, before all of the flavor of events and mechanics and decision making is added in. War, probably the most involved activity you can have in a strategy game of any stripe, is now utterly boring.

And none of it matters, because it's still on best seller on Steam, has legions of defenders, and will undoubtedly get at least a couple years of DLC to milk those fans even more. Can't wait for EU5, which will just be a $75 screensaver of a world map changing color.

At least Terra Invicta is kinda fun, even though it's missing a bunch of features, has a bunch of bugs, and is an actual alpha build.
