You prefer the pre Conclave CK2?
I prefer to rise my martials via drunken poor katana master event lol.
Jokes aside, conclace mechanics is ok, it is just that with every expansion, the game become less about managing dynasty or strategy. I remember before charlemagne, i was more into playing as a ruler. with all expansions it became more about, oh let me join a society so i can brew a potion, oh my wolf child event, let me be satanist etc. you can close the supernatural elements but it is still an event and do not rule ever fest.

"Lily."

Why the Hell does Paradox like hiring trannies? They are clearly lazy and rip off modders for ideas.
The most common answer to this question is that troons tend to be autistic and therefore supposedly are able to punch above their weight in workload, but frankly I disagree and think DEI is the main reason they get hired, and being autistic they tend to be interested in game development fields in the first place. It also gives corpos an easy out from criticism (the thing consumers are complaining about was made by a troon and therefore it’s just bad faith transphobia), and considering how many degenerates are in the industry I wouldn’t be surprised if troons are doing furry sex roleplays with industry bigwigs.

Why do you think the dev is trans?
Lets see, beyond there being very limited women in dev roles for this type of video game genre, lets research the individual in question.

Go to your search engine of choice and type "Lily paradox interactive." I used Duck Duck Go and found a certain linkedin as the top search result:

Lily's Linkedin

What do you think? Do you think this is a true and honest woman?

Adding on to ellroy's explanation, at a certain point it's easy to clock trannies based off their names because they all choose hilariously out of touch ones like Freyja or Morgana or some shit. Lily is a fairly common name used for actual girls but it is also one of those popular tranny names, and since this is Paradox and HOI4 especially it's not hard to take the leap and say it's a tranny.

Fuck, I thought my medium length balding hair was an eyesore. This gives me the confidence to look ridiculous for at least the next 10 years. There's always someone worse!

That looks like The Distibutist if he had a shave and long hair. 100% a 42%er.

That said, I've just uninstalled HOI4.
I outright deleted it from my library, I would have less second-hand embarrassment from a porn game than HoI4 and its modding scene at this point.
They must be sitting on their asses until the 11th hour, shitting it together, and releasing it!
There are at least two trannies working at Paradox's main studio, we can infer what's happening during work hours.
endless resource/rework bloat for Stellaris
Stellaris at least will meaningfully refine/rework base mechanics after enough years, comparing Stellaris now to Stellaris in 2016 I can say the game as a whole has clearly improved (not necessarily at a worthwhile price, but still). The other post-CK2 games either are fundamentally the same experience with marginal improvements (EU4 and Imperator) or fundamentally broken (everything else).

*EDIT* Statement from the devs at last, but typical say nothing real bollocks:

> In GoE's case, while we identified some areas of uncertainty mostly relating to dev diary feedback, we agreed that there was nothing out of the ordinary here, and that a release at this stage was acceptable.
This is the problem with Paradox in a nutshell.

Every time I've tried to pick up a Paradox game since 2020-21, I have left the game disappointed. Doesn't matter, pick one. CK3, still all shine and so shallow. Vic3, just like Imperator: once you've played a few countries you've seen them all. Stellaris, had the most success here but even then, every time I came back to my save it felt like a new patch had invalidated it so you have to start all over again. HoI4, even the total conversion mods can't cover over the years of bad patches and shit changes just to deal with MP sweats (and several of the mods appear to be fully infected with the tranny virus of virtue-signalling instead of putting real work in on the mod). EU4, why aren't you dead yet? Any of the titles published by Paradox, SSDD in regards to the buggy, unfinished shit, they all inevitably seem to be.

None of this is new to anyone here, but I'm almost sad that I can barely muster a smirk over this latest DLC shitshow. I remember a stupid pro-wrestling quote about "It's great when they love you and want to see you, and it's fine when they hate you and want to see you beat. What you don't want, what you never want, is for the fans to just not care about you - or worse, just want to see you go away." I think that about sums up my feelings with Paradox over these last few years: I want to care, but find it really hard to do so.

If they don't care anymore, then I shall meet them at their mark.

Liking or hating something is at least attention, the worst thing for any kind of entertainment is uncaring apathy and Paradox through its numerous failures in the past few years is slowly reaching that point.

It really just boils down to lack of competition. The moment another studio can crank out a proper HOI4 or Vicky 2 competitor Paradox effectively goes tits up overnight. They've never been challenged in this space so the current company culture has internalized coasting from failure to failure without consequence.

The reality is they do have competitors and have had them since the early/mid 2010s, the issue is the audience is now so soy-slopped that the audience has effectively changed, much like Total War.

Both series were started to be effective simulations of politics/warfare in certain time periods, but it's now about completely asinine viral-chasing egg heads making stupid shit. The audience has been hollowed out and replaced. It's not about people who enjoy deep computer simulations, it's about people who want to click a button and gain validation that they'd be the perfect benevolent dictator.

Case in point, Hearts of Iron used to be about using generic IC to build generic divisions with generic research because it understood a modern total war is not defined by whether you have 1940 model aircraft, but how much you have, and that you don't need to simulate division and organisational structures beyond a certain level in a strategic sense. Hearts of Iron 3 certainly flipped this a bit because the scale was increased significantly, but you were still building units with generic types that could be boiled down to HP, soft attack, hard attack, armor. IC remained. You focused on actually fighting.

Now, Hearts of Iron 4 you are spending 35% of the game on a completely different screen trying to parse the difference between 15 lines of +5% buffs to artillery cost productivity, 50% of the game fiddling with how many factories are producing rifles and what kind of radios your fighters have, and 15% of the time watching the computer move, fight, and die for you.

If you want Paradox competitors, you'll find plenty at Matrix and Slitherine Games, they just have different audiences, the same audience that liked OG Paradox, which is why they don't get mass popularity - Paradox never had mass popularity until EU4, solidified by HoI4.
