I'm not happy with this Byzaboo political correctness BULLSHIT
The guy playing it might've switched it in the options prior without saying, but I reckon they should have a system where if you're playing as Byzantium it should default to the Eastern Roman Empire, but everywhere else should call it Byzantium? But I'm not sure if that'll break something or it's not tenable in the code.

After the turn of the millennium, different countries and peoples had all sorts of names for it so it's just easier to wrap them all up under the umbrella of 'Byzantium'. Other names include (factoring in what any given Emperor at the time was referred to as):
Kingdom/Empire of the Greeks (Calling them 'Greek' was liable to piss them off, since they called themselves 'Rhomaioi', which is Greek for 'Roman'.)
Kingdom of Constantinople
Rum/Rome (by the Arabs)
Daqin (Great Qin) by China, then Fulin after the Tang dynasty (either 'The City' referring to Constantinople, a weird translation of Bethlehem, or the Persian word for the Roman Empire being carried over into Chinese so another weird translation)
Romania (This is one of the names the Latin Empire referred to itself by, since it was close to what the Byzantines call themselves).

inb4 it's shit like Vicky 3
I think we've seen enough during the dev diaries Tinto Talks to know it doesn't look shit from a design perspective at least. My personal worry has always been potential shit performance. Paradox games are infamous for dying on their arse late game, and with how much shit they're adding to EUV I'm absolutely gonna pirate it and test some late game shit before I give them money for it.

Lambert mentioned in his video that it currently wasn't that great.

I've been playing a pirated version of CK3 just before the new update+dlc and I was shocked at how badly it runs. And now they're gonna add China. They need to bring back the ck2 performance saving black plague and Mongol mass executions.
Listen, you Pope lovers can bitch about it all you want, but Eastern Rome is the correct name of the country. There is a direct continuity of government there and no “Byzantine” ever called themselves a Byzantine. It’s a bullshit word made up by Western historians.
Before we release EU5 we'd like to make an acknowledgment that we stand upon the sacred gē of the Basileia tōn Rhōmaiōn in the God Guarded city of Constaninople, heart of the oikoumēne. We humbly honor the Rhōmaioi, the native ethnos, who under the divine stewardship of the Basileus bore the doxa of universal sovereignty ordained by Theós. Their philanthropia and sophia shaped this gē, it's holy churches and its historia, guiding the ethnē in righteousness.

We solemnly condem the shameful colonialism of the latinoi, whose rapacious plunder during the accursed Fourth Crusade profaned this Theophylaktos Polis, and betrayed the eusebeia of Christ's flock. We acknowledge their deeds wrought injustice upon gē and its native Rhōmaioi, dimming the doxa of the Basileus

As successors dwelling in this sacred place, we revere the eternal heritage of the Basileia tōn Rhōmaiōn and strive to uphold its legacy with piety and justice, seeking restoration of the philanthropia that once united the oikoumēne under the Basileus.

Their retarded inclusion of China just after they nuked performance with the one-two punch of Admin+Landless and now Nomads is what killed any interest in CK3 for me. Choosing an unnecessary inclusion before doing any mechanics or depth to Feudal, Europe and Clan is absurd.

I saw the vid posted earlier but haven't had chance to watch it yet.

I wonder how long it will take for Stellaris to stop being on fire, I'm a Paracuck for Stellaris and even I didn't buy the DLC this time around.
I kinda stopped paying attention to Stellaris, what did they break this time? Or is it just people chimping about the pop stuff?

I haven't properly played CK3 in probably two years. Tried it recently with the Steppes stuff and my game takes several minutes to load, randomly uses 10GB of RAM, and then basically crashes on the menu. I give up tbh.
