What are your expectations for the EU5 release?

Is it just me or is EU5 weirdly super laggy?
It's not just you, the game is pretty cpu intensive from what I've seen. This is just from me sitting in the main menu letting the game load resources, I get that the 5600X is very much not meant for this but still.

I have a 5 9600x and the game feels like its dying on me even on low. In comparison EU4 runs butter smooth

I doubt that anybody will ever make a game like this that's both realistic (even in the broad sense of just feeling like an alternate history) and can control snowballing. It's not just a matter of mechanics. The way people play strategy games - mindless, relentless expansionism sustained from generation to generation with some kind of big plan - just isn't how real governments are run. If you do get an AI working that's good at that, you'll get blobs everywhere.

Have to roleplay if you don't want snowballing.

Snowballing is literally how real life played out though.

The Ottomans went from being a nothing backwater to being the major power in Anatolia over the course of 151 years, which is pretty damn fast, all things considered.

If you want even faster, the United States went from 13 states and some territory they got from the British in 1783

To this by 1848

That's spanning the entire continent after 65 years of purchases/conquest.

EU 5 needs a music player. How am I supposed to enjoy my map games without my normalfag Sabaton jams?
My games music is bugged if I turn on the music volume levels all I hear on repeat is the YEAH AHH YEAAH AHHH YEAAAH song.

The music feels fucking bland as hell rn lol.

Played a bit Brandenburg and compared to 1444 its in shambles. I am slowly gaining control and building up market places and profit buildings but UI says I am equal or little stronger than my OPM neighbors. Wittelsbachs you fucking retards :stress:
I have no idea how this trade works so I automated it but maybe I should bite the bullet and try the tutorial because AI doesn't seem to do a good job.

Extremely accurate, it was a shithole renowned for being an anarchic bandit infested swamp that was passed around in exchange for pocket money before Sigismund just gave it away to the Hohenzollerns as thanks for supporting him.

I am aware but it is still staggering. In 1444 you are in position to kill everyone around you. In 1337 everyone around you is in position to kill you. If not for Denmark alliance... it would be so over.

Decided to start a new Holland game, gonna try and go for Guelders so my provinces are connected and have higher control, and I just noticed this

How do I use this "population expulsion" mechanic?

By some bizarre cosmic one in a million miracle, Byzantium did not fall to endless civil wars, Slavs, or Muzzies. They're thriving really. Never thought I'd see the damn day.

well, there goes my plans for jerusalem
think i'll go back to elder kings for a bit

Who the fuck thought it was a good idea for 5-area provinces to take 20 years to integrate, and at that stay at 0 control for the whole time? I went from the 300's in the rankings to the fucking 1000's, and that was with no wars mind you, all that happened was I lost stability and my prestige went down to 0 but I was still making money.

I'm really enjoying eu5 so far. I've only played MP with friends and the game is really stable to my suprise as the host. Havn't made it far tho do to playing on 3 speed the last few nights. My long term goal if our campaign doesn't bug out/break is to recreate the Netherlands and it's entire empire. I will destory the Anglo menace, dominate the spice market and conquer the sea. Any true Dutchman will fulfill this destiny. bhc3095.jpg

On another note what the fuck am I supposed to do about the French?!
