Castile is colonizing the other half of Hispanola despite them being in a PU with Portugal who's the other member of the Treaty of Tordesilias.
I hate the AI, I hate the AI, I hate the AI, I hate the AI, I hate the AI, I hate the AI, I hate the AI, I hate the AI, I hate the AI, I hate the AI, I hate the AI, I hate the AI.
Also explorations launched from the New World never launch because they don't have the needed goods despite me having explored the routes between Europe and the Americas, and the seazone around Bermuda takes 17000 days or something crazy like that to explore, game says it'll take until 1985 in 1505.

You'd need to build up a supply chain (iirc lumber, naval supplies, alcohol) in wherever you want to explore from before launching the expedition. That means taking the intermediate islands AND making sure the market there is stocked is actually very necessary if you want to explore in a reasonable timeframe.

>YOU VILL TAKE THE INTERMEDIATE ISLANDS
>YOU VILL NOT IMPORT STRAIGHT FROM EUROPE DESPITE HAVING PORTS
>YOU VILL NOT UPHOLD THE TREATY OF TORDESILIAS

Perhaps we treated their inbreeding too harshly...

On a side note, I really appreciate that the dynamic localization is such that has Von Hapsburg in even Arab version.
methinks Johan ran into this too many times that he had the localisers make sure the Habsburgs are localised in every culture group.

I know exactly who is responsible for this event.

"Please Johan, put bbc bulls in the game"

Look at this fucking guy, he can barely contain his lust.

"Looking down and to the left often signifies internal dialogue or self-talk, but it can also mean a person is processing emotions, recalling a memory, is distracted, or feeling ashamed."

EUV doesn't have as an indepth character system as CK2 does, so I wouldn't recommend it if you just liked CK2's characters but not actually fiddling with the real meat and bones of EUV currently: RGO, trade and pops. (Characters in EUV are also halfbaked as it is. They won't marry or move around if they aren't a part of an active tag, probably so that the engine doesn't get bogged down in trying to simulate potential millions of courtiers shuffling about.)
Rubs characters exist for government stats and personal marriage. That’s it lol

>Al-Habsburgi 🤢

I’m playing Austria early on and I never seem to get the chance to make a personal union with Bohemia. So I guess I’ll have to attack them with an ally blob since their economy has 500 gold compared to my 140 💀 and 25000 levies vs 12000. In the guide I watched he got the royal marriage to the first daughter with no problem. :( I don’t like how you can only marry the characters “of age” when the reality of historical marriages is they often got made when the children were young to secure strong alliances for years to come.

I started a new Holland game, went way smoother since I prioritized vassalization and managed to form the Netherlands by 1380. The problem is, Bohemia as the Holy Roman Emperor has a bunch of locations dotted around the empire from annexing vassals, so Limburg which is in the Lowlands is a location with 0 control for them that I can't even buy. Is there an event that releases all of them or what?

This is a bug inadvertently introduced in last week's version 1.0.2.

Government:
  • Cores now decay for countries who are no longer relevant after they cease to exist.
It will be fixed in next week's patch.

Since last week, the core of the team has been working on the next patch, which is now in the approval QA process and will be released early next week. What does this patch contain? Well, the patch notes are 700 lines at the moment, but the highlights include:
  • Cores will no longer instantly disappear, so should help with the Emperor not getting exclaves around the world.

Is there an event that releases all of them or what?
The fix will not be retroactive (cores that have already decayed obviously cannot leap back into existence out of nothing), so you'll have to start a new campaign.

"Man, this game is so fun! I'm having such a great time making a bunch of money and unifying the Lowlands!"

Allies are fucking worthless. I still haven't progressed in my Wallachia campain because Serbia is fucking retarded and wont join forces with me so we can fight Bulgaria. They really need to sort this shit out. Allies should try to stay near friendly forces when the enemy army is superior if split apart.

All they need to do is add a CK2 "attach to this army" feature or at least set goals for allies like you can for vassals.

With all Paradox games waiting roughly two years from launch results in an almost totally different way to play - they either overhaul the core mechanics (Stellaris, Imperator) or add more DLC that adds more micromanagement and significantly alters the core experience (CK3, HOI4).

Every Paradox game fundamentally changes like this like 7 times.

Headcanon that the Portuguese parliament/assembly is at odds with the Spanish parliament/assembly, and that they view their relationship under the PU as being in a marriage with a prenup where they don't think it'll last.

The precedent for this is that IRL the English and Scottish parliaments operated under the same monarch but didn't act in the same interests. IRL, the Darien scheme was a Scottish attempt to colonise the new world for its own interests, creating the colony of New Caledonia in modern day Panama. It was ultimately doomed, lasting two years and bankrupting the Scottish government (or their nobility/merchants at least) in the process. and forcing the Act of Union which turned the British naval flag to the national flag*. Essentially England would alleviate some of Scotland's debt if Scotland officially joined with England into a new political entity and thus Scotland's autonomy came to an end (or got severely lessened at least).

*The reason why this famous flag:

Was used at sea was because the St George's cross used for the English flag:

Was pretty much taken from the Genoese, seen in-game:

Before Britain got its reputation of being a naval/trading power, their merchants were at risk from pirates when traversing around the Mediterranean. To ward off potential attacks, the English merchants began to effectively license use of the flag from the Genoese in the late 1100s. Then in the mid 1200s, it was adopted as the official national flag and St George became the patron saint of England. Even so, Genoa continued to receive loisonce fee payments for use of its flag until it was annexed by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1797 despite it no longer being flown on British ships after the creation of the Union Jack.

As a bonus: another country that used the St George's cross is Georgia (hence the name).

If you're curious who used it first, it was Genoa, who pre-dated the kingdom.
The inclusion of the 4 crosses could've easily been to avoid paying the quasi-copyright the Genoese had on the flag after establishing a presence in the black sea lmao.

CK2 is by far the best Paradox game to date in terms of gameplay and ability to actually simulate history.
Gameplay yes, ability to simulate history, are you kidding me?

Half of my games Islam takes over most of Europe because Muslim Empires simply wont collapse, this is especially a problem in the earlier start games but still.
