Gentlemen... It is the year of our Lord 1644, and Italy has been finally united under one banner and one dynasty, the Palaiologos.

Unfortunately, this new Italy is not one or indivisible.

Median and Neapolitan are not accepted cultures, and I don't have the cultural capacity to bring them in yet. The biggest issue however, are the heathens. Lutherans pepper the north, and the south is swamped with calvinists and lingering mohammedans. Bringing the south up to speed is going to take a while.

Another unfortunate thing is that I'm still a duchy, and I'm prohibited from upgrading further.

Which would be understandable, If I weren't the FUCKING EMPEROR of the HRE. I should really be able to give myself the Kingdom rank if I'm also the HRE emperor, honestly. But for now, I'll just wait for another guy to become emperor and then do an independence war. Yeah, this run is by no means over. I plan on taking this all the way to 1836, mercy to my computer be damned.

Best hurry because 1.1 drops lol. Should be in a month or so, assuming they're actually putting out a beta test patch first.

Every single CK3 dlc (maybe except for the viking one) made me hate the game and PDX vision for it more and more.
I quite liked ck3 a lot. Got 750+ hours on it. However, at some point playibility fell off a cliff. It's very boring after a certain point. Crusades are fucked now where at the beginning they stood a chance. Many mechanics are missing or are extremely boring and pointless. There's actually comparatively little flavor for many nations.

Play CK2, it's better

Appanages are fucking bullshit. Can't tell them to cool it with the wars, can't release them, now I have to deal with 175 years to annex Toulouse because they ate all the other appanages from Aquitaine to Provence to the south of Aragon.

If you want to get fun out of CK3, its basically required that you bolt on 20+ mods that add flavor and mechanics that should have been included there for years now. I started an early year Viking run with some new mods I wanted to try and its playable. Not gonna make me forget CK2 anytime soon, but the mods at least keep the game engaging.

That said, this year is the absolute last chance pdx has to salvage this game for me. If they finally add republics and an impactful economy, fix crusades and warfare, do something to make west europe and the HRE feel distinct, and add the Holy See...MAYBE I can come back to it. But being hopeful for pdx to fix their shit is like being hopeful that today is the day I wake up and all the jeets are gone.

ck3 has its flaws, I would definitely say it’s better then EUV in terms of not fucking up everything it’s predecessor did correctly flavor is a bit more dependent but again a lot of it is locked behind DLC they make EA look generous

What are some good mods?

What are some good mods?
Dark Ages is essential (difficulty and mechanics expansion)
VIET Events
RICE flavor packs
Ethnicities and Portraits Expanded
Golden Dominion (playable republics)
Catholic Trinity (adds holy see)
Social Relations Expanded
Inheritable Relations
Rescue and Vengence

These would make a decent foundation. Most of the other ones i have are minor or cosmetic, but the ones listed are required for any playthrough i do. Check and make sure you have the most up to date version of each. All are compatible with current version.

Tactical Battles is one i think has a lot of potential but is very unbalanced atm. Hopefully it gets refined.

They will add their shitty administrative system everywhere, and ruin the game. You shouldn't have hope for CK3 future
