Paradox Studio Thread

  • The Kiwi Farms was targeted with a historic DDoS attack last week. Confirmed reports of 2.8Tbps on an individual provider, topping 4.8Tbps when known volumes are added together, and possibly up to 8Tbps if the attacker is believed. This is the third of fourth largest recorded.

What are your expectations for the EU5 release?

Sure, but like I said it can be built on; just make the idea of a cultural homeland or the like modular. Yeah, the Turks have a cultural homeland in Anatolia now, if they get Constantinople that can extend into Thrace - or if they lose Anatolia, get pushed back into its highlands.
I'd do something like two levels, the core core, where they are actually from, then areas where they live in large numbers. Expanding the second level would be easier, but the first would be practically impossible beyond some special events, like with the Rise of the Turks, Jurchen invasion, and maybe European colonization?

If I were to rebalance the way integration and coring works in EU5, I would do the following:
They need to make some kind of tier system for vassals which effect how much money and troops they give their overlord and also have it effect diplo options available
For example the lowest tier of vassal would be unable to call into wars until you reform them. This could be a good way to nerf countries like France at the start

Saw that meiou and a bronze age mod were released for EU5 in case anyone wants to try em and report back. I jumped into meiou for a few minutes but i honestly didn't see much diference.
I only played the meiou mod for a minute but the only noticeable difference that I spotted was that the economy was very different, with production buildings making less than a tenth of what they usually would and upgrading RGOs replaced with more buildings.

New Stellaris nonesense. They really are incapable of good design.

Yeah, this shit sucks and does basically nothing to address the fundamental problem that the AI is not fun to ally with and trying to do so is worse than wrangling cats. The AI sucks and the only fun way to deal with them is to annihilate them so you don't have to put up with their random garbage behavior. Like oh yeah these galactic paladins are cool and all, but I only get 1 until I get really far into the progression when I can actually force the AI to do what I want (i.e., anything that resembles strategic sense). Yeah man, sounds super fun.
I also don't like how there isn't a way to seize power during/after the crisis. Like it should be a path were you hold onto emergency power because the others in the Galaxy didn't take the crisis as seriously as you and you only see yourself as the legitimate caretaker. I get that's not what they're going for, and Overlord is supposed to be the answer to that, but it still feels weak. I think it would be cool if the paladins were more like galactic popes and declaring one is like saying they're the leader against the crisis, but other civs could declare an anti-pope so you could get a little civil-war in the middle of the crisis. You'd have to have it end pretty quickly if the crisis gets too out of hand but I think that would be cool.
This whole expansion is going to be lame.

Two questions about hearts of iron
Do I need any of the DLC to make the game good and what are some good beginner shit to watch? I also dont want to see any videos that are like 3 hours long about it.
