Paranormal phenomena you HOPE are real?

Ego persistence after death but only if it's good.
Brief period of time as "me" after being reborn as a kitten or something? Awesome.
Ascending to a new state of being where I no longer need to be human? Also cool, but "I" would want to know.
Sad ghost forever? Not cool.

I don’t totally like the idea of merging with some kind of higher whatever. Maybe I’m just too small to understand it but there’s something unpleasant about the idea of losing the ‘you’ and the ‘you’s of those you love

None I really "hope" to be so, but more that I simply wish to observe many, many people's reactions to various phenomena being true once they hit the end of their lives. Not out of a place of "told you so" or whatever, just out of sharing in the joy of their realization after them spending a lifetime thinking otherwise. Call it an "after party", if you'd like.

As shitty as the thing that brought the idea into being in chris' head was it'd be pretty fucking hilarious for the merge to be real. I think this is a pretty universally agreed thing which is why you see shitposts a good span of time since it first came up bring it up as a meme catchphrase of "THE MERGE IS REAL" whenever some fucked up shit happens. I personally find the "blipped out of existence if you personally slighted some fucking guy you may or may not even know or waking up as some sort of abomination if he doesn't really know or give a shit and you won the rng" of having no direct equivalent in the other universe element especially funny. I think that's like the one instance I'd be kinda ok if I just vwooped from life because it'd be fucking hilarious and i'd be guaranteed a spare of the aftermath, but if I didn't get erased I'd be able to laugh at the stupid fucking shit like mr. peanut becoming president of a micro country or some shit like that one fucking netflix movie did recently. I actually think that movie actually would be a pretty good visual of what the merge would look like in all it's horrible autistic glory.

Anyways on a more serious note, most stuff I'd say's already been covered in the thread which is why I sent that wacky one out.
I've said before, one of mine is time travel (if that can be considered a paranormal/supernatural thing)
Which kind, specifically? forward/backwards, pre-destined loop, or the fucking weirder stuff like fragment/mandela-ish timeline cluster stuff? "paranormal" and "time travel" kind of reminded me of some shit again.
I experienced some really odd shit as a small kid and I still can't shake it or explain it several decades later. Not going to go too deep into what's burned into my mind regarding possible time travel, but one time a bedroom I was in literally fractured apart for a brief moment and reconfigured into another room in a completely different house. No, not like an alternate "this is not my beautiful house" thing but like a "I was in a relatives house one moment and then at my own house the next and nobody ever acknowledged this as odd" type of shit. Never really hallucinated in my life. I still have no fucking explanation. The closest thing I can compare it to is sleep paralysis, teleportation, or some form of fucked time travel. I wasn't fucking paralyzed or even asleep, once again never hallucinated, and last time I checked I can't teleport. What I'm saying is if that concept IS real and that experience was that, then it's likely much more random and uncontrollable in a genuinely scary way.

I kind of get/understand the old world religion variation of that idea that still shows up sometimes in various media where it's some cyclical thing and less a merging and more "going back to/becoming aware of being" or whatever, but the modern version is so blatantly corrupted, especially in the current year eternal era. Made worse by the fetish fuckers.

I definitely hope the Bell Witch was real.....

Honestly I don't care too much about the various fictional rules/mechanics (to be honest I don't know if any of them would be how time travel "actually" works--I tend to agree with Douglas Adams that "the universe kinda just sorts itself out" in that regard).

I just want to be able to go into the past and visit it. Or at least, view it using some sort of past viewer that's not limited to just pictures and recordings.

I’d be cool with aliens. Fairies are often mean or devilish, though, and I feel like human lives would be significantly worse if fairies existed. (Changeling babies? A long lifespan that means you view humans as ants?)

Dwarves would be fun. Sasquatch and yetis, too. Any of the mythical animals, really.

I kind of already believe in ghosts and animism, so I don’t think those apply here.

I don't 'hope' for anything anymore, it's either real or it isn't, but there is no benefit to wagering my feelings that anything extraordinary is secretly real.
... At this point? Space travel. I don't even mean aliens or breakaway civilizations, just the possibility that we can go to other planets in the future.

Reincarnation.
I want to insert coin and try again after this life is over.

Yeah I get the desire for that. Life seems kind of tedious and pointless really. But you might end up somewhere/when vastly worse.
Reincarnation without any past memory makes no sense to me. If you can’t learn and remember you’re effectively a whole new person. It seems a bit pointless. It just isn’t compatible with iterative learning. The idea of. Reincarnating lower or higher, again -if you don’t have any link to the last go round - what’s the point?
Now reincarnation where I can pick where and when and as who? That would be good.
Aliens would be fun unless they’re bad. Which knowing life they probably would be.
