Pastadome - A place for friends who are being too friendly in other threads.

That doesn't necessarily mean that it was following every Covid guideline though, such as (IIRC) the one against large, crowded gatherings.

So you're a journalist of some sort? What paper do you write for?

I'm not really a journalist. I was an anonymous contributor to the Dallas Voice while I was at the protests b/c they were offering money for boots on the ground / tips and photography.

I did get a neato press pass tho.

Hate to break it to you but nowadays anybody with a phone and a sticker that says PRESS is press now.

You know it's fucked when a random faggot on the street has more journalistic integrity and desire to display an even-handed take on the issues in my city than the actual journalists.

All you have to do is point a camera where they big boys don't. Boom, you have more integrity.

For free, no less.

so is the refusal to wear a mask like an autistic thing? the feeling of the thin piece of cloth against your oh-so-sensitive skin must be really bad for this many people to carry on about it.

doing nothing didn't seem to be working, but i guess wearing a mask violates your rights or something.

truly, we are an oppressed people.

Does UCSF medical school count as sources? https://www.ucsf.edu/news/2020/06/4...s-heres-science-behind-how-face-masks-prevent

Your turn, boyo

And Bill Nye is a dork who needs to go away

There's no point with you. Any time someone presents something that challenges your smooth-brain way of thinking you just chimp out about it, like when someone presented evidence from Sweden. You immediately started whining about "muh other scientists".

Fauci and the CDC lack credibility, but you keep stretching your anus wider to accept their failures while also demanding that everyone else also drink the Flavor-Aid. Nah, man.

Evidence is plentiful you're wrong, but keep trampling on the constitution and demanding the end of civil liberties. It still won't save you.

So you don't have a source that is credible. Got it.

One scientist in Finland saying it (without citing any studies to back up his claim) is not proof, especially when compared to actual peer-reviewed science that says differently.

You sure are assmad about being asked to wear a mask. Why are you afraid of a piece of cloth?

While wearing a mask can get uncomfortable (can confirm, went out to eat and it was a bit hard to breathe in the mask, but i managed), it's mmore that everyone has suddenly decided that Mr. Gubberment Can't Tell Them What To Do. It kinda annoys me that it took a literal global pandemic to get people to tell Uncle Sam to go suck a dick, but here we are.

It's basically saying 'you can't tell me to stay inside or what to wear, I can do what I please' like a filthy small-gov libertarian, but they also forget the other edge of the libertarian sword, which is where everyone else has that same right- including the businesses that refuse you service due to not wanting to risk transmission.

You don't either. Fauci isn't credible. CDC isn't credible after simping for the PRC. Same goes for the WHO.

You sure are assmad about people's bare faces. Why are you afraid of bare skin?

@muh_moobs, i see you have an issue with negrating people when you're upset. you should try to stop being a butthurt manlet

i'm being mildly facetious. i do believe that a good number of these people are autistic, because they certainly act like autists with the way they carry on about things changing as a result of the very real pandemic.

the way i see it, you live in a society ("we live in a society"), you have to abide by the rules of society. and in a functional society, we need to be considerate of one another, and it is our duty to help those who cannot help themselves. somehow, people are under the impression that being a true American means not giving a shit about anyone other than themselves. i mean if you want to be selfish, go ahead! fuck off to the middle of nowhere and, please, stay there. (not YOU, you btw)

people have the right to not catch an illness from some plaguerat who can't follow the most basic rules.

If masks were so effective, they would have been recommended the entire time
There was a shortage of 95+ Masks in the CDC stockpile at the time, so they lied to you plebs knowing that you would believe them so that they could prioritze on filling in their stockpile.

Getting upset about that, just like getting upset about the lockdown not being only two weeks, is pretty much a sign that you lack the ability to make long term inferences. Look at what they are doing logisticly, not what they are saying.

Lol that you actually believe the CDC isn't credible, nor is Fauci, but yet you believe everything out of Trump's mouth. You couldn't be more of a Trump cultist caricature if you tried.

Why do I want people wearing masks? Because I want this damn pandemic to be over. You apparently would rather people die and be forced to live in this "current reality" than be forced to put a piece of cloth on your face when you go out in public for a few months. Are you legit autistic or something and have sensory issues? Wearing masks is seriously not a big deal.

So come on, show me the data that shows you are correct.

The biggest problem I have with Trump's presidency is that his base is even more rabidly idiotic than he is. What we're seeing is entitled lower-middle class chuds who think that they're 'owning the libs' by exposing themselves to the virus b/c Trump's self-cultivated aura of invincibility has spread to their perception of themselves. It's a common thing for all political movements, but Trump's base is the most energized I've ever seen (admittedly, i'm only old enough to remember Bush, Obama, and Trump.) This is good and bad. We're seeing the bad in this case.

he'll probably post a bunch of msm garbage while simultaneously whining that msm is bad and unreliable, unless it affirms his idiotic uninformed opinions

If Dr. Fauci isn't useful to the administration in some way, then I'd have to ask why he hasn't been fired.

It's literally slavery and the Holocaust combined! REEEEEEEE!

You're the one failing to make an inference. They still aren't recommending N95 masks. Just strips of fabric. There was no shortage of those.

And if this were true and was just some 4D chess, why did the CDC draw their recommendation from what the WHO was saying?

Election year.

Trump has already said he lacks credibility (because Fauci has contradicted what Lord Emperor has said), yet hasn't fired him. Which is hilarious

Not really. There was a mask shortage back in March. The science has shown that masks keep the virus from leaving the nose/mouth (through saliva and mucus). Countries with people wearing masks in public have shown a huge reduction in cases. But we can't have that here because of lunatics like you

With all due respect, you're not doing yourself any favors by not providing a source.

It's because, plain and simple, Trump is a grifter. He always has been, long before he became President. He surrounds himself with advisors that either agree without question to what he says, or those quiet enough not to raise a fuss when he contradicts them and calls them out before proceeding to steal their ideas / use their suggestions while claiming them as 'his idea! Big win!'
