Pastadome - A place for friends who are being too friendly in other threads.

The biggest problem I have with Trump's presidency is that his base is even more rabidly idiotic than he is. What we're seeing is entitled lower-middle class chuds who think that they're 'owning the libs' by exposing themselves to the virus b/c Trump's self-cultivated aura of invincibility has spread to their perception of themselves. It's a common thing for all political movements, but Trump's base is the most energized I've ever seen (admittedly, i'm only old enough to remember Bush, Obama, and Trump.) This is good and bad. We're seeing the bad in this case.
Now to be fair (and take the faggot radical centrist opinion on this), his opposition has also been making some big brain moves on this virus: from people intially demanding Trump not shut down the borders in the first month of this because it would be racist, to doctors telling people it is totally ok to go out and protest during the last month.

Granted, that doesn't make the Trump supporters any better, it just points to the problem being Americans in general.

i'm in the same boat as you, only remembering bush, obama, and trump and, yes, i agree, trump's brainwashed cultists are far worse than the bases of either bush or obama. that in spite of all reason and actual verifiable facts, these drooling troglodytes, these dysfunctional failures of society, continue to worship a 74 year old conman who has managed to turn the country into one of those "shithole" countries that they like to pretend we're better than.

seethe, brainlets. seethe.

Trump has already said he lacks credibility (because Fauci has contradicted what Lord Emperor has said), yet hasn't fired him. Which is hilarious

Not really. There was a mask shortage back in March. The science has shown that masks keep the virus from leaving the nose/mouth (through saliva and mucus). Countries with people wearing masks in public have shown a huge reduction in cases. But we can't have that here because of lunatics like you

Somehow a dude who was one of the most-cited scientists in the world is not credible, but some fat retarded Cheeto moron who can't go two sentences without contradicting himself is.

Believe me, I know just how retarded both sides are. The Democratic party somehow managed to gain and lose my vote over the span of a month with this retardation. The fact is, while both sides are wrong, the side that's actively sitting in the white house is doing active damage in a perceptible fashion where I live. Do I agree with the Dems? No. But it's not blue voters I see running around screaming at liquor store employees and citing QAnon as a reliable source.

Which should tip a lot of people off, but people always take him literally on either side of the fence. I'm firmly in the camp that cares about his actions, not about his words, and the fact that he hasn't fired Fauci despite apparently being incredibly frustrated with him tells me everything that I really need to know. It wouldn't be the first time that he played up a rivalry just to keep everyone's eyes on it.

Not firing him because it's an election year doesn't even weigh into the equation for me, because he can get the news cycle spinning so fast that nobody would even remember that by November anyways, and he's never cared about any of the other shit that he's done that had enormous potentials when it came to backfiring. If Fauci wasn't useful, Fauci would be fired.

FAUCI LIED, PEOPLE DIED! and by "lied" i mean "changing his medical opinion based on ongoing research"

but no fauci is a hack fraud and donald trump, the man who proudly claimed he passed a test for people with dementia, is the expert.

A few weeks ago I was at the gym and was talking to a buddy. We were both talking about how masks are no big deal and we even wear them when doing cardio. This guy starts talking to us and mentioning Q and how covid was engineered by Bill Gates because he made money from computer viruses (yes, I know this is not correct but he said it) and that now Gates wants to make money off of real viruses. My buddy and I looked at eat other, pretended to agree because we were really uncomfortable, then laughed our asses off at him

I've only run into a couple of those types in meatspace and I just hit them with the 'okay retard' and walk off. I would rather engage with people online who actually want reasoned debate and to come at shit in good faith than talk to the 50 year old chud with a beer gut in the Chili's parking lot.

Why do I want people wearing masks?

Because you're an authoritarian who values your sense of security above other people's civil liberties.

As for Fauci vs. Trump, which one was correct about Hydroxychloroquine? Studies were available at the time that said it was effective as a preventative measure and as a treatment to ease symptoms, but Fauci shilled for big Pharma.

Or using UV lights to kill bacteria? Fauci said that was ridiculous and shot it down outright after Trump suggested it be explored as an option. Meanwhile such technology does in fact exists and was being tested as a possible course of treatment.

So that's two for two.

Coronavirus isn't caused by bacteria, though? The UV treatment is only effective against stuff like pneumonical bacteria and streptococcus and other forms of bacteria, whereas viruses are a nonliving pathogen that affects to host cells.

Also, Hydroxychloroquine isn't a purpose-made drug for Covid treatment, and has been shown to cause damage to the bloodstream. The FDA's been running tests for the past month on it.

HCQ has not been shown to be effective, despite Lord Emperor claiming that it has. Each study on it that showed effectiveness cherry picked the patients to put the low-risk people in the HCQ group. Every study except one that showed it isn't effective did the opposite. There was one legit, non-biased study done and it showed no benefit. Also, HCQ has a high-risk of vascular side effects, which is a really bad combination with a disease like covid which is a vascular disease. So yeah, Fauci was right.

UV light treatment is being tested by one company (without word of it being successful or not), but Trump touted it as a fact that it works. He also was likely not referring to the UV light treatment, because let's be honest here, Trump is a dumbass and just mumbles shit that his cult members like you eat up

Sorry, but your cult leader was wrong again.

Now let's see your studies showing that masks don't work.

Dude, take a break from this site and make sure your sister's okay.

no, dude, you gotta inject the UV light into your veins. like bleach! ("he didn't actually say that!" screams the cultist who has memorized God Emperor Trump's every word) actually my husband and i were thinking that maybe you could, like, cycle the blood out of your body like you do with dialysis and then shine a UV light on it, but then we realized that was retarded.

i feel bad for those people who actually need hydroxychloroquine, and now a bunch of fucking dipshits are buying it despite the fact that it isn't a valid treatment for corona, and as a result they're causing shortages. fuck you, got mine!

X to doubt.

You were talking, but also six feet apart wearing masks while other people were also working out around you and you were all indoors?

Either you're just as bad as you claim people are for refusing masks, or this never happened.

But has been FDA approved as an anti-malarial drug since 1955?

We were six feet apart in the stretching area while both wearing masks. You can talk just fine with a mask on and six feet is not that far (although it may be to the 5'3 rightwing manlets on here). It was a Sunday afternoon on a beautiful day, so it was pretty empty inside (plus it's a huge gym so there's a lot of room)

You need to replace your veins and arteries with fiber optic cable, then you can also get Internet directly to your brain.
