My point is, if it were unsafe as your other post tries to imply, the FDA should have revoked approval.

what if, and stay with me here, the damage to the bloodstream is a sacrifice they're willing to make if it means the drug can treat maleria. but since the drug doesn't fucking work on coronaviruses, there's no reason to use it on those people and subject them to the possible side effect of damage to the bloodstream.

My point is, if it were unsafe as your other post tries to imply, the FDA should have revoked approval.

It's not unsafe when it's being used for what it's intended to do. Quinine is a drug used to treat Babesiosis and Malaria- drugs caused by parasites, and HCQ is specifically used for malaria. It was also used to treat restless leg syndrome back in the day, but they no longer recommend that due to the risk of damage when the drug isn't used properly.

The risk of harmful side effects in the use of pharmaceuticals increases exponentially when they are not used as intended, and in the incorrect doses. The FDA does not need to revoke approval for a drug that does not treat Coronavirus when it's being recommended, by NON-FDA sources, to use as a treatment for COVID.

But just for you, from the FDA's own website:

June 15, 2020 Update: Based on ongoing analysis and emerging scientific data, FDA has revoked the emergency use authorization (EUA) to use hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine to treat COVID-19 in certain hospitalized patients when a clinical trial is unavailable or participation is not feasible. We made this determination based on recent results from a large, randomized clinical trial in hospitalized patients that found these medicines showed no benefit for decreasing the likelihood of death or speeding recovery. This outcome was consistent with other new data, including those showing the suggested dosing for these medicines are unlikely to kill or inhibit the virus that causes COVID-19. As a result, we determined that the legal criteria for the EUA are no longer met. Please refer to the Revocation of the EUA Letter and FAQs on the Revocation of the EUA for Hydroxychloroquine Sulfate and Chloroquine Phosphate for more information.

Malaria, if left untreated, can cause seizures, comas, total kidney failure, or, commonly, kill you fucking dead.

the FDA is literally just a bunch of pharmaceutical shills, why are you shilling for them?

UV light treatment is being tested by one company (without word of it being successful or not), but Trump touted it as a fact that it works. He also was likely not referring to the UV light treatment, because let's be honest here, Trump is a dumbass and just mumbles shit that his cult members like you eat up

That's not what he said, and you know it. The comment was a question whether it was a possibility or not and a request that it be investigated. Fauci shut it down on the spot while saying no such technology was possible.

Get of CNN's dick. They're content is shit but cult members like you eat it up.

Because for once they're actually fucking right. If an actual medical professional comes out and proves to me that HCQ doesn't do the damage it does, I'd go right back to 'fuck big pharma'. Just because I agree with them doesn't mean I'm a supporter.

Apparently, Covid kills you fucking dead, so what's the difference?

I also question the FDA here. They had this data the whole time, why change course after allowing it's use? The only reasonable answer for a sudden change like that is the Pharmaceutical Lobby got involved.

@muh_moobs, i see you have an issue with negrating people when you're upset. you should try to stop being a butthurt manlet
But you negrate people too. Should we presume you're upset too?

entitled lower-middle class chuds
Why do liberals (I'm assuming you're a liberal) always take this elitist/classist attitude when they try to insult people who politically oppose them, as if it doesn't make them look like condescending, smarmy, and plain arrogant fuckers?

I never said Covid was a hyperlethal vector, and I don't need to. It's not a lethal enough vector, in my opinion, to risk the use of HCQ and the damage it might cause for no benefit whatsoever. The gap in mortality between Malaria and Covid is very, very noticeable.

I find it hard to believe that the data that hospitals gathered from the frenzied hysteria with which the masses immediately ran to HCQ wasn't shared with the FDA, especially considering, again, it's not a drug purpose-designed for coronavirus treatment. It would be a more cost-efficient solution, as we already have plenty of the stuff in circulation, as well as other derivatives and off-brands used for babesiosis treatment. Is it possible that a big pharma company lobbied the FDA to shut down trials so they could have their patent hit the floor? It wouldn't surprise me at all- there's a doctor working on a treatment that suddenly cashed out a LOT of his stock options just the other day, so it makes you wonder.

The FACTS are from the hospital workers and health-care professionals on the ground. HCQ doesn't have the benefit it's touted too, and the side-effects have been known for years. Regardless of how fucking stupid it would be to authorize a drug like this in the first place, they realized their error and walked it back for whatever reason.

maybe it's because we're right.

I'm a libertarian, but I do lean sorta liberal. I don't mean to paint everyone with that brush. The people I see regularly that act like that are almost always in my social strata- lower-middle class, just above the poverty line. There's no real correlation that I can comment on, as I'm not the most educated man on earth myself, but it's just a trend I've seen local to the areas of Houston and Dallas I lived in.

I need a sad react.

I always find it funny when people chimp out about neg-rates. I mean, you had to click on your alerts to see it, implying that you care when you get pos-rates and people never say about those "stickers on the internet". If those folks truly didn't care about internet stickers, they wouldn't pay attention to their alerts.

If anything it errs toward delaying the production of drugs. When it doesn't you end up with things like the Vioxx scandal. Like it or not it is probably the best regulatory agency of its sort in the world and you can usually take some drug prescribed by your doctor without worrying it's some chinkshit that will literally just fucking kill you without having any benefit at all.

Also who didn't disable ratings alerts as like the first fucking thing they did when they opened an account?

ah, no, facts that don't conform to my uneducated worldview! reeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEE!

Why do you care about negrates so much, since you're the one who brought them up in the first place?

no i didn't, you can't prove shit.

If your biggest concern in a discussion on the internet is how many stickers you get for 'winning' or 'losing', you shouldn't be having the discussions. The purpose of discussion and debate is to educate and elevate the persons involved, and the thing I hate most about the modern 'woke wave' is that both sides have decided that DESTROYING FASCISTS/ PWNING THE LIBS >>>>>>> educating and sharing information and ideas.

Even this very thread, maybe the shittiest thread on the forum currently, is better at actually discussing shit than anything on reddit.
