If they kill her off in-story, the memes and mockery will explode even more because she'd become a martyr for the cause. And it would probably get even more people to wake up and realize the migrant problem is a life-or-death situation.

It would also require spending more time/money on a sequel, or additional development on the current game. I can't really see them doing that after this first attempt flopped so bad.

I just watched the movie "BlacKkKlansman" with a friend (to make fun of it), and literally all the arguments the KKK members were making were like, completely true, and I found it funny how they were trying to frame said points as horrificly bad.

I think theyre trying to coerce impressionable lonely teenagers into extremism. Planting the seeds of controlled opposition and stuff. Nobody would play this unless theyre near the fringes of society in the first place. And now that we have all the X memes Pathways will always be known as the game with a rw manic pixie dream girl. People who are sane will dismiss this as a funny meme, but the autists will genuinely believe theyll get a gentle goth dommy mommy or whatever if they shoot up an lgbt parade. Otherwise i dont understand how you fuck up this badly and introduce an attractive woman who represents the extremism faction when a) lonely internet-abusing males and b) virtual simulacra of women don't mesh well
 
I just finished playing through the "game" to see what's it about. One thing drew my attention. In the ending scene, the game insists that "any" ideology can become radical or extremist. But that's not what the game shows at all.

In the first chapter, Charlie is encouraged to download a video which apparently contains worrying and violent rhetoric, but it is never specified what it is. Fine enough. But then in all other chapter, there is only one "evil" ideology shown: anti-immigrant right-wing nationalism.

If Pathways was really trying to teach the player that "any ideology can become extremist", then either all the chapters would keep the ideology vague, or we'd see a variety of extremisms, targeting different young men. Young Mohammed is encouraged to share jihadi videos, young Tyrone is asked to join a mostly peaceful protest against police brutality, etc. But nope.

I don't think anywhere in the game it's suggested that extremist ideologies other than "white nationalism" even exist.
