I think you are overreacting just a touch. People fuck in their daily clothes all the time, doing it in oversized animal costumes is not really much different. Couple that with how cheap partials suits seem to be and how common it is for those actually fucking in these expensive things to use alternate pieces specifically for fucking in, it seems pretty harmless.

Unless one is walking around with those sheath pants and their cock hanging out at a con or in public, I probably wouldn't give much of a shit. Animal suits are weird as fuck already but if I was into it enough to actualy spend thousands of dollar on one, I'd probably end up fucking in it too.

I dunno man, when it gets to the level of having sex in fursuits that seems to push it into fetish territory for me, and in turn gets categorized with things like gimp suits and other paraphernalia. Not that I have any issues with that, but it seems wrong to wear something that amounts to fetish gear out in public, especially when it's a colorful animal costume.

This discussion may be getting a little off-topic, so I'm just going to say that anybody can find literally anything sexually exciting enough to turn it into a fetish. That's just how humans are. People have been sticking their dicks into some questionable things for thousands of years. If I tried to outlaw everything I find weird or gross I would have a lot less shit to laugh at.

Not anymore since he gets more clicks and Twitter interactions by participating in this pretend Nazi witch hunt.

A few years ago Dogpatch Press used to be a "reputable" and tolerable outlet of gossip and news within the fandom. People enjoyed the site for what it was, but it didn't really pick up steam until politics became a forced issue and Dogpatch went whole hog with it. He gets a lot more attention now, but in the process he alienated every single former guest writer/contributor (with the exception of Fred Patten who just churns out book reviews left and right). Everyone else abandoned ship because the website turned into a toxic waste dump of garbage. Dogpatch is the only contributor to the website with the exception of the occasional coattail rider showing up to shit out their own articles about fandom politics.

Y'know maybe I should have encouraged my friend to go through with his furry blog idea.

I feel like even a group of rank amateurs could produce a blog that'd get more hits as long as they focus more on the fandom and not the politics.

I say go for it. Many people are underestimating the sheer number of furs out there who are 110% done with hearing about politics all the time. Every furry blog that I can think of with the exception of Flayrah has fallen victim to politically or emotionally charged clickbaiting. Without fail their writers and reader base are comprised entirely of the kinds of people whose tweets get screencapped and laughed at on the Farms.

Plenty of people want a fun website where they can check out reviews of new furry-related games, movies, stories etc as well as news about conventions and gatherings and maybe the occasional BuzzFeed-esque "16 Hottest Anthro Video Game Characters" article. It's a solid idea, all it takes is for someone with a strong vision to see it through.
