no the judge did not "agree" to this. iirc it was mandatory for a quashed subpoena in california. but the judge did delay ruling to quash multiple times asking for ANY relevant evidence, and also overlooked his lawyer missing submission deadlines and shit.
this is stated explicitly in the court documents and was known ahead of time. but I guess the world might seem "stupid and cruel" if you are as dense as pat.
read your own court documents you fucking moron.

To be honest even mentioning Patrick as if he is in any way of the same level as Gaiman is so laughably wrong it’s titillating like the first time you realize you can call your mother a bitch. Not just his sales but the works he’s made himself has shown Neil creates worlds, Patrick just borrows tropes to adhoc a setting together. There’s no originality there because he isn’t capable of it.
