People who know Poker, explain this to me. - How does a Pair of Kings beat a Flush?

Could be an anti-piracy feature?

The key is subtlety. When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

Yeah, that's probably the anti-piracy kicking in. I didn't know it'd do that, neato.

So people will just think the game is shit and never ever buy it?

I can now confirm that this is not an anti-piracy feature. The game really is just shoddily coded.
A friend of mine who bought the game legitimately back in the day is sharing his Steam library with me and while playing this legitimate version of the game, I just saw Heavy, who had one pair, beat out Max's two pairs and the game just sees nothing wrong with that. To anyone who might ever consider it, do not pay the extortionary price for keys of this game.

The second game, however, is fantastic. I decided to buy it legit and this was the cheapest key I could find.

There has to be an error somewhere, I swear I bought the games for 1.99CAD years ago when they came out.
They’ve been unavailable to purchase from Steam ever since Telltale went bankrupt a couple of years back. They didn’t even relist them for purchase when they went back into business so now the only way to obtain them legit is with Steam keys, which there’s only a limited amount of. The first game goes for around 40 USD.

Absolutely not worth it.

It doesn't. You should beat up the gook programmer Gaben brought in on an H1-B to code this shoddy nonsense.
It’s made by Telltale Games, not Valve. I know Shawn ”mad about Republicans playing Firewatch” Vanaman was one of the people on it.

They're unlikely to get the license back for Guardians of the Galaxy as well with Square Enix announcing a game at E3.
