Pet Peeves

It really shouldn't bother me, and it kind of hasn't since college, but people who insufferably just latch on to the newest popular TV show or movie and don't seem to have any kind of taste, the kind of people who do shit like put Arrival into their top ten movies of all time. Like the guardians of the galaxy soundtrack was the worst example, because it ruined Moonage Daydream for a while since any college event or party I went to had that fucking soundtrack playing.

Guys who act like women being irrational is like an unavoidable thing you have to put up with if you date girls. I know a guy whose wife broke something of his and his only explanation for it was "she's a woman, she gets emotional" it's like they don't get that people are people and there can be normal and crazy ones.

And more than anything else, when somebody doesn't like something you've said but doesn't have the guts or common courtesy to just tell you themselves and tattletales to someone else about it. The older I get the more this pisses me off because it just instantly makes me lose respect for that person and makes me not want to socialize with them anymore. If you have a problem with me, fucking tell me, how else am I supposed to know when you don't give me any indication, don't be a pussy and go behind my back.

To be honest, I've encountered so many of these kinds of people that I'm really questioning whether it's a fucking stereotype or not.
Well stereotypes do exist for a reason. Just like the stereotypical white boy lives off daddy's money and wears nothing but polo shirts and cargo shorts/white girl wearing uggs drinking starbucks. There are a lot of people like that but it still is just a stereotype.

People in group projects or labs who expect everyone else to carry their weight. Also the people who watch Westworld or some other TV show in the back of the lecture hall, because even though they're not technically disruptive, it just irks me. Don't you guys think you should maybe take notes?

People who walk too slowly in hallways.
I got places to be, and I don't need your slow ass keeping me at a pace of -34 m/ph.

People who say "YAAAS QUEEN" or any variation of it unironically.

People who think spamming memes = funny.
It's especially bad if it's irl. It stops being funny after the 30th time you say [insert meme of the month]. Shut the fuck up and try actually being funny.

People who tell me to be quiet for asking my instructor serious questions during times when we're allowed to talk and ask for help.

People who can't spot red flags when it comes to friendships or relationships, then getting upset when an obviously abusive person fucks them over.

When people comment-block you for proving them wrong. I really can't grasp the line of thinking behind that one- it's easier to simply stop replying than to draw more unnecessary attention towards yourself

People who talk during movies. It drives me nuts, especially if it is a movie based on an immersive atmosphere.
Had some fucker sitting right behind me during "Rogue One" doing that. Not talking loudly, or even talking to anyone else, just going "Uh, oh!" or "Oh, boy!" or "Watch out!" or stuff like that, or trying to anticipate dialogue, like when the pilot is on the radio trying to think up a code name, he's all "Rogue One!" He was an adult, over forty, and while i wasn't certain, I thought he may have been just slightly "exceptional," but... seriously, fuck that guy... with a lightsaber!

Whenever a hatedom bashes something and then gets mad at another hatedom bashing something of their own. For example the people in the PPG 2016 hatedom criticize the Teen Titans Go hatedom for taking their show way too seriously, despite them literally doing the exact same thing for their show.

This is pretty typical but I need to hold back a wince when a tv show or film has a joke in it, which they then explain. Kills the whole humour for me. Its a pet peeve when it happens once or twice. Non-stop its just insufferable and insulting *cough, anime*

I find I've gotten thoroughly sick of the term "raised/raising eyebrows," as in "so-and-so raised eyebrows/is raising eyebrows today by saying [stupid/ignorant/hateful/bigoted thing]." There's been so MANY things in the past year or two where reporters apply that term over and over and I hate seeing it now.

The word "bruh".
People who say they've been the biggest fan of something since for-fucking-ever even though they just found out about it. (This shit happened with Deadpool, and I can see it happening with Iron Fist once the Netflix series launches)
Little kids running around in a restaurant unsupervised. (I've dealt with this nonsense enough for one lifetime, tbh)
