Hooves came up in another forum I frequent, and an Israeli poster said that Ahuvia (or whatever the standard spelling is) is a pretty rare name and most of the women who have it are ultra-Orthodox.
What forum? I kind of want to see some first time reactions to Hoover Dam.

Latinx folx? Is "folks" now an offensive word for SJW's?

Also I am having a hard time believing ADF skates in a roller derby team if he can't even ride a bicycle.
Yeah I don't think he actually skates. But I was reading his Tumblr way before I even found you guys and he would go through periods where he would reblog nothing but roller derby shit. He even thought he was a skinhead girl for a while (the non racist kind).

In a moment of unparalleled naivety, I though he had realised what a douche move it is to use someone's name who was murdered because of her sexual identity to earn some pity points and ditched "Araujo." Maybe in some weird alternate universe...

I don't know how naming laws work or anything, but would the state get on his ass for changing his name again? Is there a limit to how many times you can change it? inb4 Google ... Just curious if anyone knows off hand.

So far as I know, you can change it as many times as you like, but they don't waive the fees to file the paperwork. I'm not sure when/if he previously legally changed it but it may be in a different state anyway.

I think the state can refuse name changes for a variety of reasons, such as being offensive or possibly trademarked, or for other reasons. For instance, I think most states probably wouldn't let you change your name to Shitcock McNiggerdick or Apple Computer or an unpronounceable symbol.

"Araujo" is a type of white flower.

"Nieves" means snow.

Hooves has literally chosen the name "Snow White."
His dwarves can be Jordman, Kinnay, Jinnay, anarchist cafe bitch, and the other three would have left because they recommended that he not tattoo his toes or respond to trolls. Also, instead of offering him a place to live in exchange for cooking and cleaning, they give him asspats in exchange for feeling good about themselves.

I've been through the process so information time. Depending on the state, there's two ways to do this. The official way is to file paperwork at the court. You normally have to make some sort of sworn oath stating you aren't doing it to defraud, you've notified your creditors, stuff like that. Then you publish a notice in the local newspaper of record for X number of weeks. After that, you set a court date, and so long as nobody shows up and objects, you get a court order stating your name is changed. You use that to change DL, SS card, stuff like that.

THere's an "informal" way that isn't accepted by some states, in that you "do business as" a new name for X number of years. You get a lawyer to send a statement to the relevant court that you've been living as the new name for X years, and the court sends back basically the same court order as above. It's more meant for people who find out that the name on their birth certificate doesn't match the name they've been going by all their lives. Example: name says Rebbecca on birth cert, and person has been using Rebecca all life.

Either way costs money, as most courts won't let you waive the filing charges, and newspapers like charging big cash to run legal announcements like that. It cost me something like $160 for the court fees, then $100 to run the add in the paper. Not counting the costs for re-issuing IDs and such.

Phil's favorite cartoonist made a special comic for him in honor of his name change.

He's dropping it because he's an anti-semitic in addition to hating blacks.

Yeah, I'd be giving my last name some thought too if it was "Mooneyham."

Yeah you can't be a proper SJW with a white as bread name like that.

Isn't ADF a raging Antisemite now? You'd think he'd change "Ahuviya," considering that's a Hebrew name.

Maybe he thinks it sounds like a pretty hispanic name.
