It even extends to breastfeeding scenes where Phil looks away from the screen due to there being an exposed nipple. This behavior has reached an extreme this year where Phil presumably dropped FF7 Rebirth due to the beach scene and refused to play Stellar Blade (much like Code Vein), as well as attempting to hide a female NPC behind his shield in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Phil operates as though being mature means being "above" the kind of raunchy humor that he used to rely heavily on. Whereas in reality, maturity is being able to handle situations like a responsible adult. Notably, making dirty jokes is not excluded from being a responsible adult.

Most adults, when they play a video game that features primary sexual nudity (genitals) or secondary sexual nudity (boobs) will have the subject cross their mind for as long as the content is on screen and then their focus will move on to the next thing that the game shows them. Let's use Code Vein as an example since Phil dropped that early on. Io's dress and bust are prominently shown in the early cutscenes and when you talk to her in the base. But, most people don't *fixate* on her figure when she's not on screen. Same with Coco or Eva. In other words, out of sight and out of mind.

Phil doesn't work like this. Phil's outlook on what it means to be mature means that he likely feels as though sexual content of any kind, no matter how mild, would make him appear to be immature to his audience and, presumably, the people in his daily life.

This also ties in with his perspectives on how the relationship between a husband and wife should work. Phil likely buys into the idea that a married man should find his spouse, and only his spouse, sexually attractive. Pretty much this. I think when it comes to video games, Phil's fear of women is more about his insecurity of being seen as a nerd. Most of Phil's worldview comes from what he saw on TV/movies in the 80's and 90's. A pretty common running gag was nerds being in love with video game characters/insisting they were in relationships with them. It was basically a precursor to waifu culture. Phil projects himself into every game he plays, so he doesn't want to be seen as a sad loser who needs to date a video game girl/only plays games to see boobs. He's desperate to be seen as a real man with a loving wife and mature relationship. It's the same reason he sees characters smoking pot as lame and immature.
