One of my favorite things about this forum is that we have such a diverse range of members from so many different places around the world. I've had some wonderful times listening to people talk about their countries, hometowns, cuisine and everything else that they feel represents where they come from. So I would love to share this stuff as a group, if people are game.
So post a picture of your favorite thing in town, or tell us a story about how you lived next to a hippie commune growing up. Any way you want to represent the space that you occupy in the world, or the places you've been.
Obviously, use some measure of discretion if you don't want to reveal much about your actual location. ie, if you don't want people to know that you live in Santa Claus, Indiana, maybe don't post a picture of the Santa Claus statue. But creativity is awesome.
My contribution:
This is a stretch of Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, seen from a bus. It's a route that I'm fortunate to take often, but no matter how many times I do, seeing the lake in all of its variations never fails to make me happier. The lake itself, the docks, the lakefront statues and cafes, I love it all. It's beautiful in every season, but I'm especially fond of winter because of the subdued colors and the incongruity of giant piles of snow on the beaches (and the people determined enough to ride their bikes and jog in 10 degree weather). So here's a little piece of it for you guys.
