The closest college to where I live. It's only 5 minutes away.

The Cavern club?

(images spoilered cos they're large)

I'm actually not all that fussed about the Beatles tbh, it's just the Cavern Club seems like a place many will know of. Post whatever you think's interesting friend, it's all cool.

I live a few miles from Santa Cruz, California--I won't be more specific than that, because my actual place of residence is tiny enough that I'd no doubt be trivially easy to track down.

Here, have a few facts about Santa Cruz.

-We hosted the Miss California pageant for many years, until a bunch of 1970s radfems threw a bitchfit over it.
-The local college, UCSC, has a fucking banana slug as its mascot. Seriously. It's actually kinda awesome.
-At one point in, I think, the 70s, there were around three separate serial killers operating in the area.
-There's a large hippie population, and marijuana possession is the absolute lowest priority crime for cops here--if I recall correctly, they prioritize jaywalking over smoking weed. Seriously.
-We have an amusement park. It's called the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and it's notable for being one of the very few surviving beachside amusement parks in the state. Paradise Pier at California Adventure actually takes some inspiration from it, and other parks of its ilk.

I'll post some local pics later--there's a lot of gorgeous stuff here.

That's actually something I really miss about living in north Cali. These guys would always come out in the redwood forests at night, and I found them really charming in a "look but don't touch" sort of way.

Compared to other major cities I've been to, Tulsa really isn't mind blowing or anything. The downtown area has some really neat places and kickass architecture though.

Lafayette, Louisiana is my favorite place on earth though. My family founded it - originally it was called Vermilionville. Maybe that makes me a little biased, but whatevs.

Hi, my name is Abilene and I'll show you mi city.

We are gonna see good things, bad things, and legal stuff. Mostly. My first stop is the Puerta del Sol, the heart of Madrid. One of the most known enclaves in my country. This building right here is the center of the regional government.

This plate is dedicated to the people of Madrid who fought and died against french troops in the Independence War (18th century).

And this plate remember those who helped during the terrorist attack on March 11th, 2004. The elliptical plate indicates the height of the city: 650,7 meters.

After the Paris attacks there are more polices forces in the area. Unfortunately I can't show you that. You see, the police has special laws to protect them. The new Citizen Security Law allows them to, for example, detain any person who refuses to show some id, or confiscate cameras without a warrant.

During the dictatorship this building was used as the General Security Directory, where political prisoners were brought, jailed, and then redirected to the old Carabanchel Jail. History is a commodity in this country, because few people remembers all this.

Its also the confluence of multiple subway lines, drugs, party goers, homeless people, prostitutes, alcohol, tourists and so on.

The bear and the arbutus is the official symbol of our city.

Let's walk a few blocks away. Besides the recent reform of rent laws, which allows to raise prices that stood intact for decades, traditional and old stores are still open.

This is the Congress of Deputies, one of the two primordial goverment buildings of the Cortes Generales (the other is the Senate and it's almost useless).

These two lions were created with melted bronze from the cannons used in the Hispano-Moroccan Wars. They are called Daoíz and Velarde in memoriam of Captains Luis Daoíz and Pedro Velarde. They died against french troops in the Independence War defending the city.

That's it for today. Stay tuned for the next Madrid Tours by Abilene. In the next tour we'll explore the local nightlife.

I'm from a small city called Pachuca, is located hummm.... 100 km near Mexico City.
The photos are from a kid's museum, some years ago the museum opened a dinosaurs exhibition outdoors, even some of the figures are on the boulevard in order to more passers can watch them. The most iconic thing here is the monumental clock, that has the same machinery of the Big Ben... but dinosaurs are more interesting, so far.

Hello fellow Tulsan! I've lived here for most of my life so it's the place I call home. Yeah, downtown has grown into one happening place in recent years; it didn't used to always be like that. I'm not sure how long you've lived here, but I can tell you some of the restaurants you need to check out if you haven't already.

Oh, hello there! I've been here quite a while, but by all means, list away. I'm always up for finding out about new food places.
