Is West Memphis really that much better than Mexico?

Yes.
For starters he wouldn't have the isolation of not being able to speak the local language. He could go to a local bar and actually interact with real people and such. He wouldn't have to pay some local mexican "lawyer" middleman to do everything for him when it comes to interacting with the government bureaucracy. He could get on disability gibs for housing, power, EBT. Be able to drive places with out dealing with passports and bullshit.

Living in a tin shack in BFE mexico, alone and unable to speak spanish sounds fucking depressing.
I don't know how ralph thinks it makes him look cool. He isn't rich living in some beach house villa like servants. Everyone knows he is living in a prison of his own making.

Ralph with a questionable medical take

If I remember right 2 years ago he was already taking something like 3 times the normal daily dose recommended for a normal person. No surprise he can't feel anything if it's not a huge amount mixed with boose. All his receptors in his nervous system must be fried. Abuse of substances also modifies the chemistry of your brain after years of using, you don't react to substances the same way (and you become retarded for life).

Xanax (Alprazolam) works by increasing GABA, the main inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain. Alcohol, while less selective in its effects, also targets GABA. Combining the two is not recommended—and, in fact, can be dangerous. Ralph has downregulated his neurotransmitter receptors to the point where he now requires extremely large doses just to feel a buzz.

Probably at the point where he needs large doses to not go into severe withdrawals and die.

Dick would never survive with Ralph as a co-host. Every time he even attempts to be in the vicinity of Ralph, he suffers a catastrophic injury. I don't know if Masterson can afford to chance falling down the stairs and breaking his neck or falling through a window and being impaled on a patio umbrella just to do a podcast with Ralph.
