For the sake of his two young children, I hope Ralph succeeds in rehab and is able to turn over a new leaf once he’s out. Obviously that wouldn’t be a very funny outcome — nor is it especially likely — but I do hope it happens.

In his current state that’s 100% true, but if he genuinely reforms his ways and avoids all intoxicants forever that might change. I’m not saying he should get split custody or anything, but I figure it’s better for the kids if their father is at least somewhat stable vs a deranged pill popping ragepig. Even if they never see him, at some point they’re going to want to know about their father, and the less grim that story is the better.

You might be right though. It’s possible I’m being overly optimistic and sentimental. Maybe he is beyond repentance.

I think he's just depressed he won't have access to zanniberries and hootch. I would be legitimately surprised if he A) kills himself, B). Actually goes to rehab, or C) goes to rehab and dies in rehab.

It is my greatest and most naive hope that a lolcow one day realizes that they’ve made a mess of things and they take the time to admit it publicly and pursue some positive change.

I sincerely hope that you do better for yourself, Ralph. I don’t think it’ll ever happen but I suppose that’s up to you. You can totally do this, it’s well within your control to change everything in your life for the better.
