That is a very apt comparison. It has to be at least 10mg a day because the cognitive decline is getting steeper by the week. Ralph has this ongoing addict fantasy that he can wean himself off this medication on his own as if this is going to not adversely affect his health…

…but he also legitimately seems to believe that once those withdrawal symptoms manifest, he’ll have the willpower to resist taking more pills to make those symptoms abate. Absolutely no awareness that he has an issue with impulse control.

The scariest part is that going through those withdrawals is going to impact his cardiovascular health which is already in a precarious position due to morbid obesity. Hypertension is going to be a hovering specter when the stress of getting clean hits him and all that rebound anxiety comes flooding in.

The cherry on top is that he positioned himself in a country where he won’t have any access to the medical care he is going to need sooner than later.

A Little note for those not inclined, farmapram (the xanax brand he's using) are a legitimate brand with xanax in them HOWEVER just like most brands you get fakes. I'm not a Mexico expert but even the gunts 1 remaining tastebud should easily be able to tell if they have xanax in them and a seasoned guru can even guess the amount by how bitter it tastes roughly. Even very small amounts taste strong of bitter chemical. So God knows.

Maybe he was looking it up because he has been getting blanks? Which would be strange even from a doctor in Mexico as you'd just never come back to them. However I'm thinking he might be seeing a street dealer.

I'm certainly concerned with how he drives about too, especially on benzos you're asking to wrap your big gay truck around a tree. Nobody can sustain a benzo habit for too long, not even the almighty peterstein could. The withdrawals can drive you insane.

This right here. I’ve never even had Xanax but if I lived somewhere I could get it OTC, I’m not sure I’d trust myself to “try some, just this once.” Because I know myself and don’t have to lie to my damn self about reality.

The way Ralph lies to himself about himself is sheer lunacy. It’s like saying “I’m just gonna have one Oreo” then having 15 and claiming “Oh I meant one sleeve” when you’re only talking to yourself.

Protip: don’t set yourself up to ruin your life if you can help it. Ralph can’t help it. He’s a goner.
