The facade immediately began to crumble after Knoxville, but even up until then he was doing shady shit on /cow/ and in his private group chats. There's no "trigger moment," other than the curtain being pulled aside now that he's run out of any good will and has degenerated into a total laughing stock.

Him "always being like this" doesn't mean there wasn't something that set him off. Shady shit is too be expected from these internet personalities, if all he did was backstab and instigate in his discord literally none of this would have happened. He opted to start lashing out at little to no provocation, "disowning" Rekieta and Traitor Gator, feuding with Flamenco, coming nearly to tears while alternating pleading with Metokur and wishing cancer death upon him like a 15 year old spoiled girl mad at her dad for being grounded. Not that he hasn't been a lolcow in the past but he really went on a tear this year.

He wasn't there for her when she died and (probably) wasn't a good son in any sense. And she died without ever seeing her grandchild.

My assumption is that a big part is Sandra dying. That doesnt explain away any of the Faith saga, but Sandra was probably his emotional safety net in many ways. He's "on his own," not getting any younger, with dwindling finances and nonexistent career/life prospects. Not to mention that losing both parents is a special kind of existential realization that can mindfuck a lot of people.

Combine that stress, being totally unable to take a joke, and whatever delusions come from longtime substance abuse, it was a powder keg.

I think his nature is really just innate, but it's being exacerbated by addiction and emotional turmoil and ultimately just becomes a feedback loop.

Imagine what kind of changes Ralph could make to his predicament if he sought out a good therapist and some decent medication.

Both parents dying in a short amount of time, even if you’re not close to one of your parents it still does something to you especially if you never deal with the childhood trauma.
Sandra allowing him to live under her roof till she died was a huge parenting mistake on her part. He’s never been an independent functioning adult.
I think the Tipping Point was getting Faith pregnant and driving her away. I believe he feels extreme shame on some level at abandoning Xander before he was even born. He knows he’s a failure just like Ronnie, no matter how much he hollers about Vickers.
The substance abuse of course doesn’t help.
I think the point of no return was the Portugal beat down. He’s too far gone now.

Up until around late 2020 he had an entertaining enough show and people who could run interference for him to create a bully pulpit. This way, any time he fucked up he'd have gator, Andy, flamenco, Dame, Dick, bibble, etc, make jokes at other people's expense and make him seem like the "good guy." Now everyone who once defended him has seen his true nature and he's spiraling. It's fascinating really

But that plays right into the storyboard of just about every alcoholic. Bad things happen to everyone in life; marriages fail, parents die, businesses go under, and so on. Everyone copes in their own manner, but what sets alcoholics apart from other addicts is that they thrash around violently while they spiral and don’t just alienate friends and family, they institute a scorched earth policy that goes above and beyond burning a mere bridge.

Ralph is at the point now where conducting his show sober is simply out of the question, he has clearly embraced the idea that what draws people to him are the very same boisterous and embarrassing antics that simultaneously appall and entertain everyone here, but through the haze of alcohol what is appalling is experienced as artistic and charismatic.

When Ralph released that clip of him having sex with Faith, it disgusted pretty much everyone in Ralph’s “sek-ter”, but did Ralph perceive that as a regrettable and major lapse in judgement? Absolutely not, it was just another display of his raw sexual prowess and anyone who doesn’t agree is probably a faggot who secertly wants to mount Ralph’s obese body just like Faith did.

There is no rock bottom when it comes to fat alcoholic wiggers and Ralph won’t even get the dignity of a spiral, like an old satellite in a decaying orbit gently yielding to gravity. Rather he’ll just plummet straight into an abyss until this lifestyle destroys his body beyond repair.

Does it really matter where it all went wrong? Weather Ralph was just born bad or got here through a number of bad decisions and bad hands dealt.. In the end he was always destined to become what he is.

I think god's purpose for people like Ralph is to serve as a bad example for the rest of us. I am sure many people passively watching Ralph have learned some life lessons like what is and isn't important in life and that being a hedonistic loser addict doesn't pay off in the end so you should value your family, don't cheat on your wife, don't start drinking or gambling and just overall appreciate never having made any of his terrible choices.

Every day you don't wake up as Ethan Ralph is a blessed day.

The difference between Ralph "then" and "now" is simple:
During GG there weren't that many people messing with him but he sperged out as much as he does today, his dox, dick pic, Arby's joke, and a bunch of other shit was because he never managed to let things go and to not react when trolled.
During the YT era of the KS he was fresh out of jail and his drug/alcohol consumption was reduced for a few months which helped him keep a lid on it, on top of that people liked the show and he probably felt that he was getting the respect he "deserves". Even then, there were a few times when his true sperg self managed to come out, especially when /cow/ started going in him for blatantly lifting content and not crediting it.
Around the time Knoxville happened the mask had many cracks, Ralph was full blown alcoholic once again, his relationship with Nora started going down the drain, he was getting hookers and shit.
And by the time after the Faith sage and he got together with May he was off probation, not needing to be careful about drug use anymore, no family left, no friends (only "friends" like Dax who encourage him to act like a retard for their own benefit) and with a ton of legal trouble.

At the same time, yes Ralph did start getting more unhinged at the end of last year. The closer the January trial got (and the possibility of going to jail), the more unhinged he acted (you can see him admitting to "wanting to have fun before jail" in the Alice texts), the thing is that it just continued to escalate after he didn't go to jail.

I doubt there'll be a change any time soon, his state of mind will probably continue to deteriorate due to his substance abuse and his paranoia and lashing out will only get worse, which in the end is what makes Ralph entertaining to watch, if he were to miraculously get his shit together then there wouldn't be anything interesting happening.

That trophy is all the glory and praise he never got as a kid.
