He's always been like this, the difference was that during the post-jail "golden age" year he obfuscated it with a humble attitude (whether or not it was genuine is irrelevant) and by surrounding himself with people who accentuated his better qualities.
Ralph is an addict and his trajectory was set in stone. His entertainment value relative to the farms will fluctuate as time goes on, but his quality of life and health will only continue to deteriorate.
Up until around late 2020 he had an entertaining enough show and people who could run interference for him to create a bully pulpit. This way, any time he fucked up he'd have gator, Andy, flamenco, Dame, Dick, bibble, etc, make jokes at other people's expense and make him seem like the "good guy." Now everyone who once defended him has seen his true nature and he's spiraling. It's fascinating really
