The absolute nigger that swatted Ralph managed to do more to humanise him than any of the Gunt Guard or Ethan himself over the years. What I saw there was a regular (if rotund and short) guy, afraid for his dog and acting like a regular citizen when faced with an extraordinary and scary situation.

Honestly it made me think worse of him, maybe I'm just more jaded or have been exposed to him more. He's more than capable of being civil and communicating well in stressful circumstances, as he showed there, but when he deals with someone who doesn't have power over him he's one of the most antagonistic people I've ever seen. If that footage was of one of Ralph's enemies he would have called them bitchmade for acquiescing so quickly and not telling the popo to get the fuck off his lawn.
