I know a lot of people like to say that the only thing that's changed about Ralph is how open he is regarding his pettiness, but I don't think that has any basis in reality. Maybe he was always thin skinned and just hid it well, but that only shows that at one point in time, he had enough common sense to know that to keep it close to the chest. You can blame the drugs or the loss of his mother, but the truth is that Ralph is getting dumber and more impulsive as time goes on.
Looking back on his old streams, it's amazing how he got it in his head that he was somehow the star of the show. His greatest strengths were getting interesting guests and playing a decent host when inviting people onto his streams. That and his interest in politics was genuine enough to were he was able to make salient points at times. Even then, he knew that people wanted to see his guests go at it, be it for political reasons or just general drama. When he talked about his successes, it was in relation to the streams themselves, not for miscellaneous bullshit going on outside of his show. Now look at him. Every show is him going on about drama in his personal life or posturing to his haters, with the occasional bit of basic bitch /pol level political commentary. His guests are charisma vacuums, he doesn't have a good co-host to bounce banter off of, and he's almost always slurring to the camera.
TL;DR, Ralph threw away every skill he had as a host because he fooled himself into thinking that he alone enough to carry the show. It's like if Jerry Springer came on stage and said "alright, how's about I do some standup?"
