So I've been joining in with the DSP people lately cause DSP puts out daily chuckle content (DSP has a large number of full-time clippers while Tclips fucked off earlier this year for us) and I always said that if Ralph died, I'd go be a DSP aylawg. I went and checked in on Ralph since everyone's been saying that his show is dead and god damn an hour in and he's made 3 dollars. In the immortal words of Teddy Feaser "It's never been this over."
Ralph thinks he can revive his show, and Null believes in him, but there's a couple important facts that both don't realize.
1)The kind of content Ralph used to put out is no longer desired and the landscape has changed.
2)Ralph burned all the bridges that made his show what it was and barely anyone was willing to repair things after the latest arc.
3)Ralph's just not entertaining sitting in silence watching the news. People can do that on their own for free without paying a pay to sometimes say "smash or pass".

I would have to look for it but I seem to remember reading something indicating smoking might actually be protective against Covid.
I doubt there is any real evidence but I think the conjecture is around how nicotine interacts with receptors.
Funny how someone who has denounced the US on several occasions, has basically been a drain on the US economy his entire life, and is probably dodging taxes now suddenly cares about what the government does with money.

I'm pretty sure the fact of the government doesn't have his money is the reason he's in Mexico.

Nicotine increases mutational susceptibility in the lungs and blocks DNA methylation (in short, it blocks the process of turning off gene transcription). It'd take too long to go into the biology of both of these, but the long and short is that nictoine is very bad for DNA
Re: Smoking and COVID, casual smokers don't really have any increased risks, they're about as likely to get COVID as the general population, but heavier smokers seem to be at increased risk (given that individuals with diagnosed smoking-related conditions like emphysema are more likely to experience severe COVID outcomes like hospitalisaion/ICU admission/death, it makes sense). The more you smoke, the more you damage the lining of your lungs, so the easier job the SARS-CoV-2 virus has to infect you. The idea of some kind of 'Smokers Paradox' has been touted in loads of diseases, yet it's never carried any weight, and is probably pushed by people with ulterior motives (i.e., they have someone paying them to say it). It's pretty much impossible to test this kind of thing, as it's hard to design a trial to demonstrate a protective effect

I honestly think if Ralph changed to streaming games he would make more money, seeing him rage pig at Dark Souls would attract more viewers than him falling asleep front of Fox News
Problem is Ralph doesn't really like, CG was just something he stumbled on.
Of course, DSP doesn't just dislike gaming, he despises and dreads it, but he does have enough discipline to use it as a tool for begging on the daily.
Ralph, however, has zero capacity for tolerating any sort of self imposed discomfort.

I always wondered why Ralph even bothers with the webcam because it doesn't really add anything of note to his show. Then it occurred to me that having his face on screen is his way of compensating for his lack of commentary when watching news clips.

Ralph's fucking awful at video games, even more so than DSP. He'll play a game for an hour or 2 and never touch it again. If he's playing versus multiplayer, he will do behind the scenes shit to stack the odds in his favor (One time he was facing Mark Collett is C&C and wanted to do a 1v4. Mark disagreed and Ralph allowed him 1 teammate, so it was 2v4. Ralph told the guy to just afk the whole match). If he switched over to gaming, he'd be entertaining for a week and people would leave, but Ralph's currently complacent with sitting in silence watching news clips. He wouldn't want to put in the work to play games.
Like I've said many times before, the best route for Ralph is to rebrand as Ralphamari. Go back to youtube, and do mukbang content (guntbang), and slap out tunes his fans superchat in on his
