He did some good appearances Letterman in the 1980’s but it’s obvious he didn’t relish the artifice of cameras and stage lights. Conan going to the Owl Farm compound, to drink and blow away life size Bill Buckner and Nixon cardboard cutouts, blew any lame TV studio guest appearance out of the water.
