You can attach LBRY to your own uploads, doing so will make the video more prominently displayed in the algorithm and validates the video. I don't care if he had a lucky break and some LBRY bagholder dumped 9k into his lap but I don't think that's what happened. He attached the 43k LBRY to the video himself to kickstart himself on the platform. He can unlock the money at any time and take it back, this was just an investment on his part.
Surely Odysee would take a decent cut of that though?

Didn't the CMO say this was against TOS when Warski asked about people doing this?

I wasn't there for that, anyway looking at the image again it seems like he didn't publish it with any of his own LBRY, seeing the original publishing amount is 0.1. Might've been a LBRY bagholder, but I think it's more likely that it was Odysee themselves who "paid" the gunt 43k LBRY. It would explain the rather irrational amount of hype the gunt has had for the platform.

That said, this is all conjecture, might've been a fan, might've been a friend of the gunt, might've been advertising money from Odysee themselves. I think it's the last one but who knows.

It's definitely odysee giving him it. Schizo theory would be Gunt bought LBRY with his bitcoin money and donated it himself through a different account.

I think the 43k showing for that video might be a bug. I used the lbry block explorer to find his wallet and it's only received 3800 LBC. You can confirm it's his wallet by looking at all transactions where small amounts of LBC were sent from this wallet to publish the killstream videos. If you click on any of those transactions and then click the "view" link on the output it will take you to the claim for the video.

I think that culture war dude is officially the lamest one on the killreport. I mean i can't say for 100% certainty that gator owns a BudK sword and would actually think pulling it out on stream like nick the knife would be cool.
Let it be known that Ralph's sword was much, much, smaller than CWC's.

I agree. Right now it's 52.19, no K.

The video owner can withdraw donated stake funds at any time. I'm on my phone and am not familiar with LBRY too much but the money is definitely real. Bugs like that do not exist in crypto.
wouldnt it show there having been a huge donation in or a huge amount taken out then though? also if you remember dlive they likely inflated their replay lemon values all the time so its not unprecedented for gunt friendly platforms to fuck around with a supposed legit cryptocurrency

My dude, LBRY is not dlive. If they lie about numbers, if $9000 ledger errors are occurring, the their $100m market cap currency is worth fucking nothing overnight. Do you get it?

Do you get it?
im confused because it isnt showing up in the log, unless thats a partial log or the values are just a base amount that was repeated in a transaction or something , it only seems to appear in the stated video total

Then why isn't it showing up in the ledger big guy?
It's 2am. You can wait for my analysis in the afternoon. Money does not vanish. An easy explanation may be that the money never hit the blockchain. If the LBRY / Odyssey service is a centralized service off the blockchain and those entries don't hit the ledger until funds are paid out, that would explain it.

e.g. BAT never actually changes hands between ad revenue to individuals and tips to websites. It only hits the ledger when it is paid out to wallets. This saves Ethereum gas.

I'll try to look into this issue further over the next day or so if nobody else gets to it sooner. It seems possible that LBC attached to a video isn't directly associated with the video owner's personal LBC wallet, doesn't it? And that LBRY has some internal site process that deposits the coin into the wallet when it's cashed out, meaning it won't appear in his balance sheet until then, even if it's technically "his" via being associated with a piece of his content?

Their end-user documentation refers to individual users having account balances, plural, so it's possible, though I can't determine in detail how any of it works just from this cursory overview:

In any case, we'll get to the bottom of this sooner or later, since LBRY does not directly redeem your coin - you must use an exchange to convert it to fiat. There are very few exchanges that allow you to cash LBC out into fiat (Bittrex is the only one I'd heard of before, and is also the one LBRY explicitly recommends, but there are a few other):

As such, if he wants to actually get paid, he's going to have to withdraw his coin and then initiate an outbound transaction to deposit the coin into his exchange wallet and we'll be able to see it happen, so the funds will show themselves in association with either his personal wallet or another single wallet we can deduce is his exchange wallet sooner or later if they're real.

could it really not just be a glitch on odysee end of things? i mean i couldnt comment for days because a glitch was preventing me from hitting the post button, it refused to acknowledge that the comment box wasnt empty of characters. didnt at null so he doesnt get me not understanding crypto while trying to sleep hopefully gets this when hes more in the mood
