Anyone know where I can watch the full Thunderbolts movie and not just 2/3rds of it?
In a movie theater. Don't you know that movie piracy is literally KILLING the movie industry?

Thank you guys! That was really helpful and sounds really promising!
I believe torrents still won't be my thing as I don't really want to keep a seedbox running, so I guess I'll dip my toes into Usenet! Do you guys have any recommendations for providers/indexers (bonus if they have a trial period to test them out)? Thanks again!

Currently looking into the Arrs (Radarr, Sonarr, ...), which overall sounds too good to be true! But I'm a bit hesitant as my torrent experience was quite bad (slow, incomplete downloads - granted, this was really ages ago) and I never used Usenet.
Anyone care to share his experience with torrent vs. usenet and/or the Arrs?
There's still some issues with slow/fake/unseeded downloads on bittorrent if you're using public trackers. But overall, as long as you chuck enough decent search entries into Jackett and do a little bit of configuration tweaking to ensure it returns only seeded torrents, it works well about 98% of the time. The only annoyance I have at the moment is fake torrents with non-video content, I have to log in every week or so and clear off any that have been grabbed, then tell Sonarr/Radarr the download failed. Probably 1 in 50 downloads, and only tv shows, where I'm seeing this issue.
If you have a newsgroup subscription or a private tracker membership it's always gonna be much smoother than doing it the cheapie ghetto public tracker way.

What's your connection speed? Do you have monthly bandwidth caps? A torrent needs at the very least a single seed so you can download the whole thing. If that one seed has low upload speed, then it's too bad for you. Happens all the time, too.

My current setup has my home server running 24/7 with other services so yes, if you do not want a server or device running permanently, Usenet might be a better option (I think you can spin up Sonarr/Radarr with SABnzbd as the downloader for Usenet).
Another nonstandard thing might be Debrid Media Manager. This is a front-end interface to a (paid) debrid service which you throw torrents/magnet links at and the debrid service will either serve a cached version (skipping the download process) or download it on your behalf, and then you can stream/direct download. This means you never do a torrent/P2P download. I have not used it myself, but it is another option.

Yeah, that's why was aiming for private trackers, but they usually have some kind of system that you need to earn via seeding to download some stuff (which I don't blame them at all for - makes absolute sense) and for really earning some points I would assume a seedbox is the best option, but not really something I want to deal with. Instead I'm ok with paying some kind of fee and then just doing my thing (like with Usenet).

50Mbit down/10Mbit up; no bandwidth limit.
Yeah, the problem why it happened is clear, but still it was quite annoying (add to that fake releases and such).

II feel like I've lived under a rock for the last couple of years, that's really amazing! And worst case I could even use it for OCHs, so it seems to be the best overall option for me! Although you said you never used it, have you ever heard anything in terms of reliability/security (data protection)?

Thanks to all of you guys, I really appreciate your input and it looks as if I sail different oceans very soon! :-)

I have no experience with it beyond being mildly annoyed you can only half self host it, but there are 'simpler' alternatives such as Stremio with the Torrentio (and a catalog) plugin(s). This also requires the debrid service provider, and it does the same thing with a much more 'standard streaming service' look to it.
Basically, you get a debrid account, throw the API key from your account into the Torrentio setup and install that to your Stremio account (for syncing purposes, Stremio itself is a free platform for 'consolidating' media) and then search for whatever you want. The Torrentio plugin will provide results that will either be already cached on your debrid service or will begin downloading them and you can just sit there and twiddle your thumbs while you wait.
Edit: also Stremio is able to be installed on PCs, phones, native TVs sometimes and has a web interface still (maybe?)

@LowLowHighLow if you really want to go down the usenet route I would advise holding on until Black Friday. Your money will go a lot further. As for providers/indexers. Provider wise I don’t think you can go wrong with Eweka, their usual BF deal runs $30 for a years access. If you really want more coverage pick up some cheap lifetime blocks for other backbones. When it comes to indexers, take it from someone who has far too many, between NZBgeek (open registration) and DrunkenSlug (private but if you ever need an invite just DM me) you’ll be covered for anything.
For now debrid would be fine and worth exploring. I use RealDebrid for piracy but it’s never really for media, mainly games and other bits of software. They did make an announcement about trying to curb media piracy a bit ago so it may be better to look into alldebrid instead.

Oh shit, I totally forgot they did make a big song and dance over the French government trying to shit all over them with regards to enabling piracy. For what it is worth, both AllDebrid and RealDebrid are in France so may as well go with the one that has the largest cache. I think all RD did in the end was disable the 'instant watch' API endpoint they were providing.

is there some sort of home server for games? like something where you can install retroarch or something to all your devices and log into your home server to download roms saved to it and back up game saves. I have romm installed which works well for anything with a javascript emulator, but it can't do Gamecube or PS2 games

I keep all my ROMs/ISOs/BIOS files etc. on a mounted NAS. I use RetroArch and a suite of emulators (all portable versions) in combination with LaunchBox. My NAS has SFTP capability so if I wanted to pull something remotely to play I could, and I keep backups of all my emulators and corresponding config files on cloud storage. I can go just about anywhere there's a computer with an internet connection and a controller and play just about any game I want in a matter of minutes, or spend a little more time installing LaunchBox for people to browse libraries.

I'm honestly surprised nobody has mentioned zspotify (which is broken these days) and its successor zotify, which allows you to archive drm-free music from spotify. Which yes, does require a paid account, but it means I get to actually keep the shit when they inevitably remove albums or tracks for no reason.

Initially I was downloading more compact files but as my storage space increased I started downloading in higher quality. But i guess I could start upgrading some of the older stuff
Transcode. I transcode everything I save. Was using 265, but now I'm using AV1. Dramatically reduces file size with no real noticeable quality loss.
Even if it's 4k, Zoolander doesn't need to be 9GB. A third of that would be plently.

It's that time again Kiwis! I have more iptorrents invites to give out. Same as ever- If you're not some newfag that's been here 5 minutes, drop me a DM and I'll sort you out.
