Pizza Tower - wacky-but-stylish indie action game still under the radar

In other news, after finding out that 9/10 Pizza Tower fans have never played the game: The next Pizza Tower is going to be UNDERTALE.
Earthbound-like is more accurate, even though this might not exist without Undertale rocketing the concept to a much bigger audience. The battle screen ui is much more Mother than Undertale actually is, which probably takes more inspiration from another indie like OFF for everything besides some of it's humor and art.

I'm still waiting for my motherfucking Mort The Chicken reboot with Peppino cameos in it

Bumping the thread because the Noise update released.
Played through the first area again with him and his moveset is really fun, I love the tornado and jetpack. The only issue I have is he can't climb walls like Peppino can which made Bloodsauce Dungeon awkward at times.
I wonder if McPig has plans for the other bosses too, Fake Peppino would be awesome.

There's a pretty good looking mod for it. Animations look great and he can run on the ceiling like in the boss fight.

I must check out the Noise update.

I got videos in the middle of the night for this patch, maybe it is time to come back and play some Pizza Tower. Reclaim my 100% status after the Halloween patch took it away. I was sort of interested in trying to actually make stuff with the level editor mod, I wonder if an official alternative will be patched in.

Btw you can essentially fly with Noise if you use his pizza crusher ( Up + jump while mid air ) -> air dash -> pizza crusher ad infinitum, didn't really found out if it can really be helpful during actual runs but it's still very fun to do. Rate me :optimistic: but I hope to eventually see my boy Pepperman also being playable.

There was a lot of love and care that went into this update and it shows in spades. Try getting less then "Primo Burger" on any of the holes in "GOLF" and see what happens.
Funny, this screenshot directly influences the one screen from 90s What a Cartoon short, One Step Beyond

I'm seeing parts of the expansion and it feels like the game gets exponentially gayer with the fan lore shit. Like what the fuck is Peddito?

One of the many spoof characters from early demos and artwork that didn't make it in to the finished game (until now). Some fans cling to these characters and get super autistic about them for some reason, trying to piece together "lore" from old sprites and discord chat logs of McPig shooting the shit with other fans.

Some of them are funny, like Snick the Porcupine:

His young sidekick, Tail:

His tough friend, Boots:

Shadow Snick:

Aluminium Snick:

As a funny side note, Snick became a fan favourite and received the most work of all cut characters, he was even a playable character in one of the demos. This is ironic given he's the one character that can bring a lot of legal trouble for obvious reasons. So he didn't make the cut.

A friend told me about this just yesterday. I got no details though, he just mentioned trying it.

Is this game any good?

Just as a heads-up, the closest Pizza Tower has to an "official" wiki is on Miraheze, not Fandom. The original mod team abandoned the Fandom wiki due to constant vandalism.

tl;dr The inmates are running the old asylum.

That said, Peddito and Doise's antics do have some roots in a Doom mod Mcpig contributed on.

If you like 2d platformers then you will most likely enjoy it. You might have trouble with the controls when you start but once you get the gist of it, you're gonna have a good time. The game doesn't take itself seriously at all, as can be seen with the artstyle. The soundtrack is really amazing and works great with the gameplay. It's also really fun to master the game by getting all the P ranks. And the new Noise update gives what is essentially a NG+ mode with a new moveset so you can try that once you've done everything in the game. There's also a swap mode you can unlock as Noise so you could try to play that with your friend

Miraheze is also simply better. You aren't bombarded with ads and videos related to completely different media like Fandom does and the UI offers more customization while simultaneously being less cluttered with bloat. No words can describe how awful Jimmy Wales and his media empires are.

Also I doubt that SEGA would try to take legal action considering how they allow and even promote a lot of Sonic fan projects, to the point where Sonic Mania is basically an overglorified fangame.
