I can see that it is meant to evoke South American influences, but it needs to have a reference model at least. It's like when drawing characters for a game or movie, you want at least something to serve as a model. I know that the images you linked to on Wikipedia do look somewhat similar to it and the artist could have just done a triangle rendition of it to fit the character size, but I still do find it odd with odd much the BLogo fits closely to it. Another point to add to this is the context of the movie, like, they buffed up Dora to a teenager and Michael Bay, the "casting couch" if I recall right, is the producer of it. Like, when Transformers was big, there was a lot of rumors that Megan Fox got the role she did because of fucking with Michael Bay backstage so this can just be a sign of that too(Megan Fox was barely legal or 17 I think). And Dora is 17/16 in the flick and so is the actress so there's that. I don't think it's really a calling card but more just to show-off. I mean the guy behind those X-Men movies was accused(Bryan Singer) by someone who was actually a victim of the pedo ring, and nobody really cares much about it. They just move on with their lives, just like with Epstein in a few months from now. Only a few places are talking about it, and they're already moving on to other topics so it's kind of dead.
