Hoohoooo I’ve been watching these trainwrecks on tumblr for a while. The ones that bring fictionkin into it are amazing.

I used to have a friend who bought into this shit and when we called them out on it, they tried to convince us their therapist told them it was a healthy way to explore different facets of their personality/self. As you might be able to gather, this person was also a compulsive liar. Anyway, personal lolcow.

EXCITING NEWS!

Our trans autistic plural catgirl friend, Amanda Bing, decided to unlock the account for Erin, his lewd lesbian alter. I'm pretty sure this account has been private since it existed, so there's lots of new content for me to sift through. Here's a highlights reel from what I've gathered so far.

First of all, Erin really likes to remind people that he is only a few months old. These are just a few examples, but there are several more.

Despite being in his infancy, Erin has pretty advanced sexual interests. He frequently fantasizes about having a warm yummy girldick in his mouth, and he refers to his partners as his pets. In one scenario, he fantasizes about capturing a cute girl pet. Interestingly enough, Erin also says he has never had "offline sex."

Erin also really enjoys taking provocative lesbiab selfies, including several of his butt, as well as his "boobs."

He certainly would make girls feel gay.

I think one reason this kind of thing is popular among our usual suspected circles is actual, legitimate autism and lack of understanding of other people. Notice how that one guy in the OP has an alter who is sex obsessed and loves to draw boobies, but another who finds it embarrassing, and a third who doesn’t feel sexual feelings? I think to an extent they cycle through emotions through their head, like a completely normal human being, but can’t wrap their head around the concept their minds are multi-faceted.

If I’m horny *sometimes* but after I fap I feel a little embarrassed? That can’t be right, those are two different conflicting emotions, so it must be coming from an imaginary friend inside my brain. Sometimes I don’t feel like fapping at all? That’s another person, too!

Good shit, hate people that spout this bullshit.

But, a few psych sperg things/corrections:
  • DID isn't that rare. People assume it's extremely rare as you've never met someone with it IRL- or think you havent, but alters are there to protect the host and frequently act like the host when fronting to avoid drawing attention to themselves. Most places say it's about 1% of the population effected- so there are more systems out there than there are trans and around the same numbers with schizophrenia.
  • Alters that are children/younger than the host and alters that change age, or "age-sliders" are a thing, that's legit and common.
  • Animal alters are also a thing- not as common but they do happen, its all about the brain creating a place where the person feels safe- if they thought "if i was really small i could have hid and they wouldn't have found me and hurt me" it's plausible they could have an alter that was something small like a mouse or bird. I haven't personally met anyone with these alters, but they do exist.
  • Examples of good content on systems- legit sufferers for reference/education on the matter: Multiplicity and Me, DissociaDID (video on non-human alters)

Why do these people never look like they bathe? They always have greasy looking hair, unless it's dangerhair, in which case it looks like it will be falling out soon from over-bleaching and anime hair dye chemicals. I've yet to see a genderspecial that really looked feminine (even the actual females), let alone attractive (not bathing is unsexy just by itself). And almost without exception they always use filters for their selfies to make their skin look smoother/softer/more feminine or to make themselves look younger. Just looks like digital airbrushing to me, which says "fake." Now they mix in this shit, larping as people who suffer actual mental disorders because it sounds...cool, somehow? I know I sound like an old man telling kids to get off my lawn, but seriously, I have zero faith in Gen Z. If Trump is a sign of the End Times for America, maybe that's just as well if Tumblr Troonville is what the future would hold otherwise.

The 1% statistic is an average that's been pooled from various studies, almost all of which are conducted in psychiatric institutions and similar settings, where there will obviously be higher likelihood of seeing people with the diagnosis. To say that it's "legit and common" for people to have "age-slider" alters is an exaggeration tbh.

Anyways, I don't think anyone is denying the legitimacy of the actual condition. But it's probably a safe assumption that very few people on Twitter who are acting like these exceptional fools have the diagnosis.

(double-posting, sry)
More exciting news! Our friend, Irene, has posted a link to the announcement of a proposed "Plural Pride Day."

According to the website, this day is in honor of the plurals who have been "buried, pushed aside, weeded out, sometimes hunted and killed, expunged from records and history, anointed and made to be divine and special as in sainthood, demonized and targeted for expulsion as in possession," because apparently, that is a thing that happens. They've even included a proposed pride flag for queer plurals.
