This thread is for eccentric internet individuals who ride the line between lolcowdom and satire. Are they an example of humanity's excesses and weirdness, or are they mocking it?

There have been a few individuals over the years who people thought were lolcows who turned out to be trolls, satirists or performance artists. Jace Connors is the best known, as well as people like MrBlackDarkness666 (best known for his feud with Leafy) and Coppercab's troon arc. And of course, many is the genuine cow who people thought for a long time could not be real, yet proved to be completely genuine.

So here we post such people, and try to decide which they are. Maybe other Kiwis have insider info that could resolve the question. Maybe we can all be confused together. Either way it should be interesting.

My nomination is a French musician who goes by the name Fadades. His videos (he went quiet for a bit but has recently announced new material) feature bizarre cheap CGI, terrible greenscreen, costumes that are bizarre by even Black Metal standards and weird themes usually related to history and aliens. And the music itself almost defies description.


Is he completely insane? Is he parodying Black Metal? Is he making genuine music? Is he a genius who operates on a level that us mere mortals simply cannot understand? Is he just very, very French? I've watched all his videos and I have no idea, and the metal community can't seem to agree either. He barely ever communicates outside his music videos, which gives him an air of mystery. And confusion. In fact mostly confusion.

Who makes you scratch your head?

Luna Slater. Granted, she is a filthy homeless herionn addict but she does frequent snark and internet drama forums and even Facebook groups dedicated to nail shaming. She also reads her own threads.

He claims the infamous "you frickin' fricks" rant was just an act, and considering he's turned his channel into an actual anime/gaming channel, I can't tell if he was someone who made a bad choice and sought help for his issues or decided to use his fame for a different thing a few years later.
 
Guptill89 feels so self-aware but the age of the videos sorta predate the ironic autistic sonic fandom parodies.
I'm not sure if there's a popular consensus on weather he's a troll or not. Probably just an autistic guy who makes weird videos.
 

All this nig does is talk about learning Japanese and wanting to fuck an Japanese woman. He also periodically shows off his certificate in some basic computer classes and calls them his industry certifications while he's either playing some weeb rhythm game or he's coding his own game because globalhomo wants their cut of the money while he wants it all to himself.



It isn't really worth running an thread on him on account of how repetitive and antisocial he is; but it's one of those things were you see mental illness at work in the internet.

I think he was just a dumb kid that did some cringey shit as a kid and probably wants to move on from it.

Coppercab trooned out for attention, not to "troll" anyone i.e. he is a cow, albeit of a different kind.

He did. For a very long time he claimed to be a tranny, wore women's clothes, had terrible make up and claimed to be taking HRT. After some time he claimed that he can't take it anymore, since he is at the risk of heart problems, but "I am still disgusted with my male body, I hate to see my erection in the morning" etc. I doubt he actually took HRT, but still, he did this shit for attention, just like this russian freak played with the idea of trooning out for some time. God, I miss DankNet.

But considering the theme of the thread, does it count if I had the opposite experience, namely saw someone doing stupid shit, thought to myself "no way this is genuine", but then turned out to be wrong?

Back in 2018 some guy began spamming communities of people who are trying to learn english with bizarre advertisements, like this one.

He was banned from all those communities, because A - it's offtopic, B - he had pictures of his dick or his jizz on his profile. He didn't stop there though and spammed russian imageboards.

I mean, one could say that he is mentally ill, but all of this looked so over-the-top, that it left that feeling that it should be staged. Fast forward to 2019 and I see this fucker promising to go postal, but again, not only he openly states it, he claims that the only thing that will stop his Day of Retribution(yes, really) is only if someone "gives him a fucking". The choice of words alone is so funny, that it's gotta be a joke or a trolling or whatever, right?

Especially when he posts Elliott Roger unironically.

It also turns out that he PMs random girls on social media with the most retarded pickup lines ever, to the point of upfront asking them for intimacy. People who've been following him for years, claim that he is just batshit insane, but then I discover his YT channel and, holy shit, this has to be a joke!

100%, this guy has to be a troll. Then I find his old account on one mental health forum, google his nickname, then google another nicknames that I managed to find this way and enter a rabbit hole so deep, disgusting, hateful and devoid of anything humane, that I can't even recall how I considered him a pretender. This guy is absolutely batshit insane with 100% certainty and should be locked up for the rest of the hateful and wasteful existence that is his life. But still, he can be pretty funny, if you can disconnect from the fact that he is promising to kill women and children.

I'm on the side of him just realizing how much of a sperg child he was and growing up. I don't buy that every video he made when he was 7 had some sort of ironic twinge.
