If everything in his life has shown him ‘being dick is strong’ including the ace at his school and his school prides on that, his enviroment dud and we willingly and knowingly helped with that.
the player doesn't visit blueberry until after kitakami, so that doesn't make sense. how would we knowingly do anything involving kieran? we met him 20 minutes ago in the dlc. he's not like, your best friend from the past.
Yes because they did and we were told not to tell him stuff multiple times. It’s why he’s somad when he finds out we’ve been lhiding stuff from him.
your player character is a child. they're doing what they're told by an adult. i don't know why that's suddenly the child being a dick? listening to adults is kind of what kids do.
Yeah. Cause at no point does the player go ‘hey, I don’t know you but this kid knows you and can probably help more’ and the only reason it follows us is because he never got to meet Kieran at the same time because his sister is a cunt.
family issues are not our problem. kieran already wanted to battle us again, and it wouldn't have mattered if we came to blueberry, it's clear that the implication is that kieran was now the strongest trainer in bba by a significant amount. drayton would have lost, and kieran would have simply come to paldea. again, how are WE the dick when the older people are the ones manipulating the pc into these things?
Because you, his sister and his grandfather had repeatedly excluded him. Why would he help people that made it clear they don’t want help? Even though he is the best suited to do so.
yeah i guess ogerpon needing help isn't as important as his grudge for a person he just met, his sister and grandfather. fuck ogerpon, right? wonder why it picked us. lol. and, he wasn't best suited to do so, he was literally worse at battling than the player in every opportunity shown. why are you so stuck on kieran being a good person who didn't do anything wrong? he's a flawed trainer who has to learn that letting your desire for revenge get the best of you is a bad thing. it's the most bog-standard plot ever.
He routinely asks people loads pf things. They are deliberately not honest with him. He keeps asking people to include him in stuff and they keep going no.
so, other people stonewalling him, when we had no permission from people considerably older than us to tell him, is our fault? do you apply this logic to real children? kieran is not a bad person, but he was a flawed character, as i said. he's interesting BECAUSE he's flawed. one of his flaws is that he cannot trust that maybe people are just trying to do something THEY think is right. and that's fine, he's a kid. he's growing. he learns a lesson over the course of the DLC, and in the end he goes off to train. he's got them anime tropes.
He was trying to be a good person. It’s him seeing that people not being gets rewarded that causes him to snap. And again, he is the only reason Orgepon is ever allowed in that village.
come on dude, he is constantly doing shit rashly. he's not thinking clearly during the dlc. then, again, you refuse to actually acknowledge the really shitty behavior he has to his classmates in blueberry academy afterward. kieran is taking out anger from you on other people. that's not good, and it doesn't make him a good person to do it. he is actively a bad person for a period of time, because he is making bad decisions based on his own bad situations.
the player is barely even present in these stories, and if you removed the main character and replaced them with a completely generic paldea student, it would have the same result. the conflict with kieran is because his grandfather is a dumbass, not because the player is a dick. kieran, being raised and fucked up by his sister and grandfather, seems to be not the best person until he realizes he needs to change, due to multiple humblings by the player. the point of which is to teach him that anger doesn't always equal strength, because the player at this point has no reason to dislike kieran other than his weird behavior.
kieran is a great character, his plot and growth are interesting, and his familial conflict surely hits home for a lot of people, myself included. but that doesn't mean his actions aren't stupid and dickish, and avoidable at so many different steps, especially by his grandfather and sister.
