Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

I too believe that the reason as of why we're not getting the SV code for a while is not only out of possible legal repercussions for the leaker but also the immense security risk having the almost up to date source code of a massively active PvP game implies.

Just like what is happening with old CoD games where there is a risk of your PC getting RCE'd by just being on a server with a hacker, if people had access to the networking parts of SV's code, what's stopping a guy from making game breaking or even console bricking level glitches using the code as a reference for possible exploits on the online aspects of the game?
SV is broken enough, I doubt anyone would notice if someone tried to break the game even harder.
SV can also be played offline, so I don't see why this is an issue. The game is an even bigger disaster with other people, that's where most of the memes about the game came from after all. Unlike the old COD games, if anything happens to people's consoles over SV it is entirely Gamefreak's fault for being incompetent and making a shoddily build, barely functioning game.
The leaker being some sort of a retarded moralfag or him thinking not releasing the latest games will save him are the best bets. His ass is already fried, so he might as well just release everything anyways, can you imagine the fallout from leaking a working ZA build? He probably doesn't have it tho, otherwise SOMETHING other than that probably fake screenshot would have dropped.

I yearn the moment this guy's PC gets hacked and someone with actual guts finishes the job for him. If all goes accordingly, GF freaks out due to people lambasting ZA for being SV 1.5 and gets back to the drawing board to make an entire different game just like the HL2 beta leaks. But realistically speaking, TPCi will just tell GF to suck it up and ship the game on its current iteration.

my understanding is that either the SV stuff was not supposed to be released or someone did so behind the leaker's back
Yes, of course, that's exactly why there are multiple repositories of beta SV builds up for download on the most widely-spread source (and have been for almost a day now) without any repercussions or removals or other attempts at getting them shut down despite the fact that the first rentry made for this leak was struck down within a day.

And why /vp/'s /ppg/ has been mostly focused around dissecting it and PLA for the past 12 or so hours.

Whether or not your understanding was wrong, it's incorrect to say that SV is not getting any files leaked because there have already been multiple different repositories uploaded and shared around regardless of whether the leaker approves or not. Alongside that, the leaker has continued uploading things while the SV builds are being spread around, so either he's really really good at curating appearances while seething behind the scenes or he genuinely does not care.

also lmao the betas are so uninspired, they're basically just the final game with placeholder UI/models from SwSh and even worse textures somehow. Such a shitty change from how betas used to be full of unexplored features and little passion projects (like Masuda's Arceus glyph explanation)

With how close everything is to each other it makes me think it would of been a 3d interactive menu for a stadium type game where the camera swoops around as you go between the game modes.

Has there been any unreleased dinosaur Pokemons? It's been 30 years and they still have not tapped into the vast well that is the dinosaur-type Pokemon.

Hopefully I can get a real answer amidst all this leak stuff.

Can anyone recommend any ROMhacks that focus on enhancing the vanilla experience? I'm not interested in any of these hacks that focus on nuzlocke or pro player bullshit. I recently played Crystal Clear and it was pretty much what I was looking for.

So is it true what I read that the current Pokemon tournament rules you need to publicly post your team, moves and items?

Pretty much, Play Pokémon's official Video Game Rules, Formats, and Penalty Guidelines page for this season says it's an open list format with pages containing the Pokémon your team, their Tera Types, their Abilities, their held items, and their move sets being given to both TOs and one you keep on-hand that you show to your opponent in each round. The only thing that isn't shared is the stat spreads your Pokémon have.

Holy shit, I thought team preview was bullshit. What is even the point in playing tournaments when the entire prediction part of the gameplay doesn't exist anymore? Is there a reason for doing it which isn't capitulating to the worst players who only play meta?

The point is to remove cheap wins from doing retarded shit that exclusively wins because it catches people off guard. If you know what exactly the opponent has, then who wins comes down to a player's skill. Knowing a pokemon's moveset doesn't make a shitty player any more likely to win any more than having six Arceus on their team would.

Speaking of Pokémon Adventures, I'm still waiting for the Black and White boxset. Reeeeee where is it Viz reeeee.
I just finished reading 2 manga adaptations of the movies (manaphy and shaymin). Kinda weird that some movies get full adaptations and others just get oneshot mangas on corocoro.

I only watched films 1-10, so everything will be new for me now.

The REAL manga that I want to read the most is the Pokemon Reburst, the series that has the most retarded scanlations possible: the beginning, the middle and the end are translated, while still missing chapters between the middle and beginning and middle and end.
