My last set of Ass Heroes preoders come out on Friday (Booster bundle), I've still yet to get a Mega attack from them and pretty much got every card I wanted besides any Dragonite so I hope I pull a gold one to match my Zard.
Also sent off my gold Charizard to get graded because I will sell that shit if it gets a 10 and buy myself something nice.

A friend who picked up champions asked me to trade him some pokemon via home since I can easily get them on my completed save of SV.
I finish getting the pokemon and find out that friend trades in home had been disabled for at least THREE DAYS at that point. Supposely it is due to a bug, which is fair but how the fuck is this acceptable in this day and age?
I work as a software developer and any errors in production are given priority and have to be fixed in at most a day. Now consider the fact champions released recently and Home finally got updated to work with legends ZA and it is even more baffling. I shouldn't be surprised since Gamefreak and Ilca are both incompetent and lazy as fuck but holy fuck, they keep doing it.

Dude the TCGL app is one of the most buggy barely held together programs ever and they are now using AI to fix the issues.
This is gonna basically result in the whole thing being unfixable in 6 months for sure.

Hopefully, but PSA loves to pop control as well. They’ve had plenty of PSA 10 worthy grails get an 8 or 9 to keep the population down. They’ve been doing that with the 151 SIR charizard to try to keep the value up.
I think them moving to slabs and charging market price in stores (if you find a TCG products at Walmart with a sticker over the barcode then that was JM Holdings' doing, it changes the price to what they want to charge for it) is because they smell the blood in the water after TPCi bought out Excell and can sense that their time distributing Pokémon products to big box stores might be over soon.
Excell is also shitty, but they’re quite literally the lesser of the lesser evils. Seeing TPC drop JM holdings and go with them would be hilarious if it meant no longer seeing those disgusting repackaged bulk sleeved products. They always try to advertise that you can pull chase cards from evolving skies and pay redditors to post their supposed pulls after being sent to be graded, but it’s all shit.

The whole grading thing is gay and fake and im a silly goy for even taking part in it but If I can profit off a bigger idiot who thinks a card is worth thousands then I'll do it.
I did send it to a place that checks all over it first and will do rigging shit to get any micro scratches or dings out and that was only like $50 extra charge so I am hoping that will help overall.

Speaking of Red, is him being a borderline mute a thing since the original games or was it a retcon. People point to the copycat dialogue, but then there's also the french waiter on SS Anne who refers to you as "le strong silent type."

It just means Red doesn't talk to French people, as is proper.

Weird thread to ask this, but what's a good handful of mons to throw at Winona in an Emerald Nuzlocke? I don't have any Ice type moves or mons, and my luck with the slots/tables are... barely passable. Any suggestions?

Her Pokémon have a lot of Grass, Water, and Steel attacks that would wreck Rock-type Pokémon, so without Rock or Ice, you just have Electric-types.
Electrike is on route 110 and 118, Manectric is on route 118, and Magnemite and Voltorb are in New Mauville. You can also find Magneton and Electrode in there as 1% encounters. The only other Electric-types that you have access to at this point are Plusle and Minun... but I assume that you want to actually win.

I'm not nearly autistic enough to have Pokémon's learnsets memorized, so I don't know if there are any good Pokémon that get access to random Electric-type moves through the Move Reminder or something, but the first few candidates that I looked up didn't make that idea seem very promising.
If you're trying to get TM24 (Thunderbolt) from the Game Corner and not having much luck, it looks like you can get another copy of the TM from Wattson as a reward for shutting off the generator in New Mauville.

Magneton's Steel-type lets it resist all of Winona's attacks except for Water Gun and Earthquake, so that's probably your best bet. A single leveled-up Magneton with Thunderbolt could breeze through her entire team until her final Altaria.
Altaria would still take Thunderbolts for at least neutral damage, so you could either leave Magneton in and take your chances with beating it (or at least get as much damage onto it as you can), or switch into something else that can take Ground, Dragon, and Flying-type attacks. If you have something else on your team like that, then you can probably beat her with just two Pokémon and a little level grinding.

Sorry if there are any Nuzlocke restrictions that make any of these things non-options. I've never looked into Nuzlockes myself, so I only know about the permadeth part of it.

Finally got my shit together and transferred my pokemon from my pkmn bank to my copy of X, now I never have to worry about losing my event pokemon again. Thank you guys for telling me it still functions. I will never forgive Nintendo for killing any e-shop, it's free money ffs. But at least pokemon bank is free forever.

Pokemon GO, only 1 event in May (extremely weird for them especially because in the past 100 or so months there is an event virtually every single week), and said event has literally no spawns like the 2024 ones.

I wonder if it has something to do with the failure of Pokemon Champions (it tells that usually when GameFreak releases a new game they will order Niantic/Scopely to put an event in Pokemon GO, but they don't even bother doing it with champions).

I saw the pokemon card packs at my local supermarket being locked behind a cage lmao. Definitely a good idea however, despite being a bit over the top.
It’s not even an overreaction at this point. People have gone batshit over modern these last couple of years, even though it’s not all that great. The sad thing is outside of a few cards, most of these people don’t even like the cards in the sets. This morning on my way to class I saw where someone left an opened pack of paldean fates and one of the reverse holos was an Iono and the rare was gone. Sadly it was all water damaged, but it says a lot about the state of collectors.

Ouch, so even POGO is being affected by Game Freak huh. I haven't played POGO since mid 2025 but I've always enjoyed getting back into the game once in a while. It would be funny if they're not doing a champions event in POGO so they can avoid even more publicity with it.

Also for those who were active for both champions launch and Scarlet and Violet's launch, which game would you guys think launched worse? I'm curious because I know that SV technically had more bugs at launch, but it at least didn't straight up delete your pokemon from Home the way champions have done to some people's pokemon (cuz mainline games take a while to add pokemon home support). Also SV's bugs seemed at least funnier than champions'.

You mean that the thing that I thought was just one of my schizo paranoia worries is actually happening to people?
Yeah, I'm never touching that game.

POGO is always affected by GameFreak. Most of the Pokemon fans will deny it but from the monetization/business choices I saw them do on that game I am pretty sure about it.

Also I am 60% sure that one of the event vacancies on May is supposed to be a Pokemon Champions-related event that is in April. So one of the events in April is supposed to be part of May while there is supposed to be a Pokemon Champions event in its place.

Champions. Those are pretty much unacceptable, I heard reports of the UI not even being accurate on launch so the game might show that you did 90% to one Pokemon but it actually did nothing. Also they messed up the Mega abilities so badly that a huge portion of them are actually unviable because they just decided to lazily slap a bunch of abilities through a randomizer or something.

IN saiph 2, 12 hours in and no gym yet.

I thought the grinding was trash however after some part in the game I got to open a place that is really easy to grind and now I can make my team presentable with no grinding as before

I’m reminded of why I hate card shows and the people that attend them. One of the women I used to work with regularly attends them and sees fit to show me what she gets from them and almost every time without fail she shows me something she’s either overpaid for or something she’s had some sports card boomer grade for her and insists is “equivalent to” a PSA 10 despite being beat to shit. She’s one of those spergy types that lacks a lot of self awareness so I kinda feel bad that she’s taken for a mark, but then she shows me pics related and said she paid $240 for all 3 and I’m like why?
